Yes it is a bit more expensive than regular beef but is a lot healthier since it is red meat tasting like beef, but coming from a bird.
From what i can gather it is about the lowest kcal type of meat you can put your fork in. Besides that it has a ridiculous low amount of fat in it( saturated fats are almost not there). The Cholesterol levels are also lower than regular meats.
Link As you can see a 3.5 ounce steak has 142 kcal in them. That is lower than beef the rings up over 200 kcal. The huge diff. is in fats. Over 17 times more fat in the beef compared to the Ostrich.
From what i have seen you can get Ostrich in all kinds of steaks, cuts and burgers. I like that.
It is a shame that something so healthy has to cost a small fortune. Imagine eating red meat (we all love that) with virtually no bad fat in it.

It's like deer meat, but leaner. It will take on the flavor of anything you cook with it. You also have to spray it with water while cooking, or it will be tough and taste like shit. Very good flavor. I cooked some with onions and garlic for a burger.
