What are you foodies doing tonight and tomorrow?

Tonight -

Really sweet cheese and olive tray for my buddies beach house party. 

Also steaming a half bushel of local topneck clams for everyone.

Grilling Wahoo Steaks (YUM) with salt/pepper and squeeze of lemon.

Baked sweet potatoes.

Brocolli rabe with juice from the clams and tons of garlic and red pepper flakes.

New years Day -

Breakfast- thick slabs of bacon, grapefruits, biscuits and gravy, local shrimp and grits with green onions/tasso ham and extra sharp cheddar.

On the smoker for big mid-day meal - 3 lb pork roast.

Collard greans with carmalized onions (yum)

Black eyed peas.

Margarita pie.

What are you guys preparing for family and friends?

Tops necks are really good but most people think they are too chewy because they are used to little necks.

I think the flavor is better than the top necks and I don't mind the texture but if you want a softer texture just lightly simmer the clam in white wine and butter for a bit after they open.

Come down to Pawleys Island and I'll show you how to harvest your own top necks.

I think the flavor is better with the top necks (over little necks) that should have read.

some old china that my wife keeps around.  all the usual stuff is in the dish washer.

snook is my favorite fish. not sure ive tried wahoo. i've caught a few deep sea fishing, but don't remember if i ate them or if someone else took them home

Snook is up there for sure.  My top 3 are wahoo, hog snapper and snook.  Got some pictures of the clams coming but I'm too full to do it right now.  SO GOOD

New Years Eve is always my best meal of the year... has been that way since I was a kid.  We had boiled snow crab legs; filet minon; baked potato with greek yogurt (no sour cream); fruit salad; green beans; and merlot wine.
