Im a canadian. I was with sports.com for the last 4 years with no problems. One day they switched my account, balance, and pending wagers to sportsbook.com which seemed to be very similar.
I had a futures bet before the season started +1500 for jose bautista to win the HR title. $100 to win $1500.
They last day of the mlb season (wednesday) I go to login and apparently the site is now a global version and i would need a new login name password. Also they mentioned that all pending wagers would be cancelled and the original bet returned.
WTF?? I waited 6 months and the day of they decide to change the site??
I've apparently lost $1400..
I don't know why i'm writing this other than to feel a TINY bit better. anyone have a response?

I was with sportsbook.com for a couple years, never had a problem with them. At the start of the NFL season they advertised an NFL survivor pool that cost money to enter. I bought a bunch of entries at a cost of a little over $200. I forget exactly how much, the cost per entry depended on how many entries you bought and now I can't access my account history. Anyway, the other day they transferred all non-US accounts to the global version. The global version doesn't have anything like a NFL survivor pool, so I tried to ask for a refund. I can't even get a reply from them, just completely ignored. So yeah, they're pretty much crooks as far as I'm concerned. If it's any consolation, you probably would never have been able to get your $1500 out anyway. I've tried withdrawing most of my account holding so I can switch to another book using moneybookers.com, waiting for "authorization". We'll see.
