I have this idea on how to get sports betting made legal in the USA and would like all covers players to comment.
My idea is to have sports betting made legal and run it like a multistate lottery{ie megamillions or powerball}. The way to get the feds to do this is you would take lets say 10% of all the money bet to fund Social Security and Medicare. I know this is like the takeout at the racetracks but it would be a lot less. To make this work you would have to sign up for an account just like at a bank and get an account number that you would bet into. Also, most do gooders say that people would go broke betting sports but if you limit on how much a person can bet per week to say $800-$1000 you would end that argument. I know most people here on Covers bet alot more than that but getting sportsbetting legal should be the number one priority and if limiting the amounts you can bet at first gets the job done so be it. I know there are lots of nay sayers to this idea but since we've been putting up with all the bullshit going on the last few years with account funding and withdrawel problems any type of legal betting would be better than no betting at all.
