I've been calling around several books so that I can spread my money around. Currently I'm with 5Dimes and Bookmaker. No complaints about either currently.
However, (and I realize this is just part of what you have to deal with when dealing with offshore books) as I call around I'm shocked by the fees some places charge for taking a withdrawal, making a deposit, etc. In addition, sometimes the people answering the phones sound like uneducated, unfriendly people. Many time I can hear them talking to other people, or lots of people in the background. While I understand sometimes in a call center environment this is the case, it's really a turnoff.
Also I hear lots of stories of these books not wanting to pay out....dragging their feet.
So my question (and I realize it's probably been beat to death on this forum) is...
if you had to recommend one book, what would it be?
The book that fits this description (great customer service, fast payouts, minimal charges) most closely is?
Yes I know there's probably some paid shills on here, and yes I know a lot of this is part of the deal, and yes I know it would be easier to live in Vegas, but again....I'm just looking for your opinions.
I've called Top Bet, Sportsbet, Heritage, Bet365...either they don't take US customers, or the fees/customer service was horrendous.
Your thoughts?

One last thing, I called a couple of the books (Bovado and Sportsbet) and they wouldn't even hardly answer any questions unless I had an account. I understand that from certain standpoint, but how are you going to get my business if you won't even answer basic questions? So bizarre.

Agreed. The fees on the way out are something no one seems to consider. If you use P2P payments, you are basically betting 120 odds and you are not going to win that way. If I had realized all the fees involved, I probably would never have gotten started betting online.
From the research I have done, I think you have to go with a 100% free play and hope to cover your fees in that way and try to beat them out of losing all the money on the rollover. You've got to get some free money to cover your costs.
I think 5 Dimes is probably the best since they will give you a free payout and that's a big reason people stay there. I'm at BetDSI myself but they are just too expensive. Fortunately, I am going to burn them on the rollover. But I'm going to cash out when that is met.
I'm thinking seriously about BetMania which has 107 odds and a 100% free play and will send you a free check if over $1,000. That's a tough deal to beat. They are not a top-rated book but seem to have some loyal customers and might be worth a shot. But they have some negatives out there too. I have not used them so I don't recommend them.
