So real quick to summarize. I requested a payout for around $800 dollars from my sports book. It was granted and payed back out to my bank account as a credit refund. It hit my bank account Friday (yesterday). My problem is, that it seems something is up with my bank account. Keep in mind, this is just a Walmart Moneycard prepaid visa Green dot card. It shows the money on my online bank account as available. Check this though, I went to walmart to buy something after work yesterday and my card wasn't being approved for the transaction. This happened earlier in the day at the vending machines while at work where you can use debit/credit cards. I knew something was up at this point. Got home and my work pay for direct deposit hadn't hit either, which is unusual. Something is up for sure. Make deposits all the time for the sports book through this card. Typically take WU's for payouts, but have done the credit refund before back to my card, and it only took a few days and had no problem. Figure I would do it this time as well. I'm just now having the chance to call Walmart money card to see what the problem is, but before I do, I just wanted to get some advice. If they happened to be temporarily freezing my account for the credit refund, what should I exactly say about where the money came from. Just a credit refund on a international online purchase or something? I don't know about exactly saying, "yeah, its my payout from my offshore sports book account."
Any help before I call them to straighten this out would be appreciated. Thanks!

how much did you try to cash ? In the past i have said that the international checks are from my "personal consulting" business. no questions asked from that one.

I use a prepaid n e t spend for deposits and was always told prepaids could NOT be used for payouts. This might have something to do with your issue. good luck.

Just a tip, dont ever do the payout to credit card option at any book. You are taking a risk with your bank. What happens is the bank compares the payout amount to your purchases and they dont see any amounts matching thus they get scared and freeze the account due to possible fraud.
They will want you to fax in receipts showing the purchase amount which of course you wont have thus eventually they just refund your money and close your account. You wont get the money right away, it will take like a week or two after they review etc.....it's a big hassle thus dont even take the risk.

same exact thing happened with me last week monday november 2nd except it was from my circle account (bitcoin) and it was partly my fault for letting it get processed back to my debit card on file. What i should have done was let it get processed as an ACH direct deposit but i had trouble with the drop down menu when i originally withdrew the bitcoins off of my iphone. My ACH direct deposit checking account i had on file with circle on my phone was the 3rd account down and i could not get it down there from phone. I should have just waited till i got to a pc but bitcoin was highly volatile last week and i felt like i needed to rush before i had any chance of losing money. Turns out had i waited i would have gotten more money but that's a different story.
Anyways my card was blocked on monday when i tried to withdraw some money and then my direct deposits from my regular work came in on thursday and still i stand here today waiting for stuff to happen to unfreeze my account.
Since yours is from a sportsbook, you might be able to have the sportsbook undo or cancel the transaction because when my bank asked me to do the same, circle said they could not do that and instead offered to have an indemnity letter sent. And i have been checking everyday since last thursday to see if this original signed hardcopy of the indemnity letter has been received by my bank which was sent i presume from boston massachusetts on over to austin texas. I did have the indemnity letter sent by email but it's got no signature on it and i presume that is done to let parties involved that the original is on its way and that no fraud is involved.
My circle transaction was over $2,500 on top of my direct deposits for over $1,200 yeah i've got over $3,500 locked up. And i don't know if the $2500 is going to be available for me to withdraw or if my bank will send a check to circle after they get the hard copy of the indemnity letter. My account is not likely to be closed but i am not going to be using my bank card for anything anymore and my bank card in question is indeed a net*s*pend card a card i used for about 7 years.
I've been using bitcoin since about february of this year got used to a little bit but this latest thing that happened to me caused me to study bitcoin a lot harder to learn more about it because the banking system in the usa is not that good due to terrorism. But with bitcoin i know how to keep everything safely stored without worrying about whether or not my account will be frozen anymore. I strongly suggest everyone to start getting into bitcoin right away if you haven't done so.

Hey fellas, big ups to all y'all taking the time to respond back with advice. Much appreciated! Moving on, I did eventually get around to calling Walmart. Basically what happened was my sports book credit refunded me the $791 in 4 different transactions. Which I was aware and fully anticipated them to do. They obviously broke it down into 4 individual different dollar amount transactions to reference the once original purchases, or deposits if you will, that I had made at one point or another. prior Which makes sense. So it matches up with the refund transaction. Well apparently, Walmart did in fact put a hold on my account, because they said they could only reference and match up two of the refund transactions with their original purchases (deposits). So being that they couldn't find it for the other two, they had my account held up. That really made me irate, because I'm like look, if you can find it for two of the transactions, I know you can find it for the other two. They of course were playing hard ball as if they couldn't possibly. So they did mention the only way of getting the restriction off my account was by giving them proof of purchase for those two transactions they couldn't find. So basically, it seemed they were concerned with fraud. So, of course, I'm getting unnerved about all this, because $791 in payouts is hemmed up plus my work direct deposits until further notice. So I go back to my sports book and tell them the situation. They make it sound like, oh no worries, we will get in contact with the processors and get proof of purchase for you. I'm like "Oh, this can be resolved rather easy?" They are like "Yes sir". I'm like wow, what a relief. Waited till Monday, contacted sports book, but the proof had yet to still come in. Got in touch yesterday on Tuesday, and the sports book was like sorry, the processors won't give up that information. So I'm thinking, well I'm screwed. Call Walmart up to try to resolve this the best I could one last time, and sure enough they had already taken the block/restriction off my account. They must have been able to reference those two refunds back to the original purchases. Which were always there in the first place, because I ended up being able to do that myself after I asked the sports book for those specific dates to go back and match up the refunds with the original purchases, which in fact, I was able to do so by looking at my account and transaction history Although, my direct deposit did get returned to my employer, which I'm now going to have to wait for a check in the mail for that pay period. I suppose all is well, because it did eventually end well. Moral of the story, I will just end up sticking to WU's payouts like I always have. I really only did the credit refund because I was able to bypass any fees doing so, but the fees are worth it to keep a more low profile and not have attention directed towards my bank account. Hey, sorry if this is all too long, I figured I would just go on ahead and write a short bed time story and explain all of this, in case someone else end up crossing this same bridge in the future. So again, thanks for the help and advice, because in retrospect, it was all pretty much on point with the situation I was dealing with. I'm glad I lucked out in getting it resolved.
@TheCrow. Been following Bitcoin for about the last two years, haven't pulled the trigger on purchasing any yet, but can tell you I like everything about it, and know I will eventually get on the train. Last week it was making some noise again I saw. To be honest, throughout all this ordeal, I couldn't help but think of bitcoin, and how it would help me avoided this situation. It's like, we have the banking system playing mommy and daddy about what we can and can't do with our own money. Decentralized currency is the only way to go!

you see, your bank did the correct thing to reject the direct deposits to be sent back to the employer for you to receive paper checks from them. My bank went ahead and put it into my account and it's stuck in there. You have the blue walmart money card with card issued by green dot bank on the back right?
Well here today i stand on a banking holiday middle of the week wednesday due to veterans day causing more delay.
Anyways luckily you were able to get everything sorted out without having to rely on the sportsbook as much. Luckily you had a small amount otherwise it might have been harder to substantiate to get the block lifted.

Yeah, I have the Walmart prepaid money visa card issued by green dot bank.
Yeah, but Walmart was always in the wrong though from minute one. Should have never been a block to begin with. Every refund was accounted for from a purchase, and it seems they eventually figured that out, and righted their wrong. So while I can see your point of view givin your circumstances, I really can't give them credit for returning my direct deposit. Should have never occurred. I'm having to wait on my pay from work that should be in my account if it weren't for them being idiots.
