I've been wagering on sports online for 13 years, and have been a loyal Bookmaker customer for about 6 years. Probably the best sportsbook I've ever been associated with. I've never had any problems with payouts with them, that's why this whole situation I'm currently in has really thrown me.
I requested a payout on 10/13 for check by FedEx for $3000, and received it on 10/20. I chose this method because of the amount I wanted to take out, and the last time I ever requested a payout by check, there was never an issue, so it didn't cross my mind. I would always use WU and MG, as well as bank wire. Anyways I chose this method, and wish to God I hadn't. I deposited the check on 10/21 into a new bank account. I was told there would be a hold until 11/1, perfectly fine. I was then told by my bank on 10/28, that the check was showing as being fraudulent. The check looked questionable, which made me nervous to begin with. The branch manager said he tried googling the bank, and a sex website popped up. And of course he asks if I can give him additional info about where the check came from, which I of course cannot.
I have tried contacting Bookmaker on a daily basis since 10/28, and I'm being told it's a processor issue. On 10/31, the processor emailed Bookmaker, saying to wait for an update. And today, the processor told Bookmaker that the check cleared on 10/24. The money shows in my bank account, but there's a hold on it from the bank. What a mess! And I really don't know how to proceed. Any insights anyone could give would be greatly appreciated.

well after looking at all the 5dimes threads, i have come to the conclusion that something is up with these processors. I guess it's safe to say that western union and moneygram are the surest ways to go whether depositing or withdrawing.

In the past 30 days, I have received 2 checks (both for $3000) from bookmaker. I deposited both into my Bank of America account and both cleared no problem. I've heard about a lot of issues with 5dimes, but this is the first with bookmaker. Since your check cleared, it sounds like the issue might be more with your bank, rather than the processor. Just a thought because like I said, nobody else seems to be having these issues.

I just received this email from my bank: "The check is showing in your account because the hold expired. However, if a check is going to get returned it can sometimes take some time. Since check showed early signs of it being fraud there is lock on the account until we can prove that the check will no be returned. I hope this helps your understanding of the situation."

well i guess you gotta wait as long as it takes for the funds to clear your bank, as long as you get your money, that's important.

Looks like your bank is holding it all up. My guess is they know what the check is for.
Putting a hold on the funds till you can prove it is not fraud is tough.
I would guess you may have to own up to the bank. This way they will deny the check and the funds would get reversed I would think. Then BM would get your funds back and you could withdraw another way.

As of 11/7, bank still has a lock on the funds. I contacted Bookmaker, and they said they're working on receiving proof from the processor that it cleared, and sending it to me. We shall see...

The issue is 100% with your bank. If the bank put a hold on the funds it's crediting to your account there must be regulations in your state that give you access to your money within a certain time frame.
Where the check came from is none of their business. You just tell them it came from a processor of an internet company you did business with. It doesn't matter if you won playing poker or sold someone a crate full of green dildo's. It's your money and they most likely have been credited with it and are just jacking you around.
Probably a good idea to request really odd amounts next time. Three thousand dollars exactly is a big red flag.
