Clients that slow pay bookies

Posting this for a friend of mine that's a bookie in another state.  He has a customer that slow paid him like $600, took him 2 months.  So now that same customer won the same amount, my friend said he's going to slow pay him too and will use 2 months as a punishment.  That customer of his is pissed off, but that's his fault.  There's an old saying, you slow pay me and I slow pay you.  It's a two way street.

What's your thought on this?

It's $600.  Who gives a @#$%?  More importantly, why did your friend bookie let this guys stick around?

Maybe he wanted to do the same thing back to him?  Duh.  I guess the slow paying bozo client was losing even more until he won $600 back.  Karma is a bitch.  You slow pay someone, they slow pay you.  Pretty fair, if you ask me.

Depends on how valuable the customer is. Gotta be careful not to push the envelope unless he is ok with losing client. Its fucked up. MOST players and I mean most expect a book to pay monday morning and will be first to contact but if player loses he doesnt feel need to pay anytime soon. Common for the business.

My thought is, he shouldn't have took anymore action when the client owed him the $ 600 in the first place. You need to be strict with the payout/pay up date. My guess, he is probably a small time bookie and needs all the action he can get!

Naw, he's not small time at all.  That's probably why he just want to get him back and see how he feels.  If he don't like it, he said he's going to tell him to go somewhere else.

Slow paying a customer is bad for business. Other players find out the book is slow paying he will most likely lose business and money.

The guy is bad and yet he took his action. Stupid is what stupid does. If he has a problem with him he should have never took is action the second time.

that's not bad, I had a thousand dollar wager at BETUS.COM which won, and the still haven't paid me, now they want me to take a gift card which can only be used for merchanise, and costs $10 to activate, and it will take 3 or more weeks before I'll get it.....I think they got hit on the superbowl, so they are not paying people off....

A lot of times slow paying clients will think of the lamest excuses when they don't have the money to pay up.  This business is a no-excuse business.  If you make a bet, you better be able to afford to pay up if you lose.  Bookies don't want to hear excuses, it's not their business why you can or can't pay up.  They just want to be paid on time.

Your "friend" should never have taken the guy back after the slow-pay and continued to expect his action.

BUT, since he did, he should pay the man his winnings in a timely fashion -- NOT in a slow pay fashion.

Why should he?  That guy paid him slow, so he gets paid slow.  You slow pay someone, then expect to be slow paid.  It's a 2 way street.

Because your friend shouldn't be a dick and slow pay just cause his client did. If he had a problem with that, he should never have continued to take his action after the slow pay.

It's not that hard. If you are a bookie, you pay on time.

2 way street.  Those that pay on time will be paid on time.  Those that slow paid will be slow paid too.  You must be one of those slow paying knuckleheads.  LOL!

as for the slow paying client, bookie needs to establish ground rules at time of 1st wager.  just like renting a house from a landlord.

Your friend should consider himself lucky to have ever collected the $600. Anyone who slow pays $600 probably has issues. If I were your friend I wouldn't slow pay now that the guy won. No need to tarnish my image over $600.

its not two way street, remember you open for business, you have the right to refuse action, but if you take him back then why bother slow pay..What, just to fuck him around, thats not how business should be run...Bottom line, its up to you to take action, if you dont want to deal with him, then dont take action, this is business dont play like child if you claim he is pretty big bokkie...When you do that, you lower your class.
