I hooked my friend up with my local book. We crunch cards together almost daily, and the cooperative play has improved my game as with the info we generate together I've made less plays daily on what I believe are stronger picks.
Our local provides an on line service to place bets. It is an off shore site with a very poor rating, but my local is a solid pay, and gives you plenty of time to try and knock down losses under 2K. Basically a really cool local using an off shore high juice shop. So I suffered the juice so I didn't have to post, and whenever I am up a couple of hundred bucks there is no hassel picking it up across town.
Buuuut, I noticed in baseball I was paying 12% to 20% more juice than he does, when we compared lines on our laptops. He had LAA at -205, I was -225, and it went down the whole list. RL's the same, o/u's the same, all other sports on the site same lines, but not baseball. Higher juice for jager...
This confirms something I always suspected, that the off shore books adjust lines on a player by player basis based on success...
I've had more success than my friend, and over the past two months I have made small, steady gains betting baseball. $75-$25 ml bets with some of the limited boxing, and MMA lines they release for the weekends.
So, another argument, for those who have the means, to have several accounts in different books. This way your style of play may remain masked to whatever logarithms they use to identify successful play.
And remember, your book will try and actively work against your success. It is a dark, soiled world, and it needs to be legalized so players can stop being exploited to the degree we are...
I'd rather be playing D&D.
