Room comps are a little tough to get if your a small player but if you get off the strip you might get one for casino rate usually less than $80. I've been to Vegas 5 times and only paid for a room the first time I went which was at Treasure Island. I don't consider myself a real big player I usually bring about 6K with me for a three night stay. Another tip is try to charge all your food to your room and get a players card from the casino you stay at and some of your cost might be picked up after you check out.

First of all you are not getting your room comped or upgraded from betting sports unless you are there dropping around $10,000 a game. I remember a radio interview with a bookmaker at Lucky's I believe that was asked this one time and that was his answer.
As far as the drinks go the best places I have found are Hilton and Bellagio. MGM is very stingy with there drinks from my experience. Also, don't be a jackass and make sure you tip your cocktail waitress decently and she will come around more often.
