Since I began betting online in 2001,I've lost $10,229(appx $1,000 a year ).This only represents a small portion of my income since then, but it is disturbing!(good thing I gave up smoking cigs about 4 years ago, that helps :-) Before that,I used 'street' bookies, and never really kept count, but it seems like I won more(maybe cause the cash is put directly in your hands?)So,it may not be possible to win online :-( But,being honest, how much have some of you guys(or gals) won or lost?

i had an OTB card that I used for every wager. I looked up my numbers one day on the CPU and it said I was down $550 for the year. I threw the card away and vowed never to keep track again. I don't want to know!

I've had a local for 22 years now, not the same local, but always a local. I've kept track on every single play for 22 years in a binder. It is pretty hilarious to see the patterns of betting. Some great years some bad years, but net positive believe it or not.

You have to put it in perspective though. Like what else would you do with the $1000 every year? Do you enjoy wagering or is it just a burden that you can't get away from?
Would you have felt better if you had put that $1000/yr into an investment vehicle with Bernie Madoff?
You said the money is no big deal to you so if it's not bothering you not having it and you are enjoying wagering, then what's the harm in it?
