6 weeks later......Still trying to recover.

Question

So six weeks ago I went on about wanting to quit gambling, and I still do. I have tried other things and keep myself occupied, but like most of you know it's just not that easy to quit. I have been in and out at times. I will admit I have admitted to the GF my issues and asked her to assist but it's amazing when you want to do something you can slip away and do what you want. I hate myself when I hide my addiction and want to get rid of it.

I have yet to attend any groups on location but have spoken online.

I will say I have slowed down, and don't do it every waking minute like I used to, so I guess i have improved a little bit.

If you want to stop gambling quit coming to gambling sites.  Its like me saying i want to stop learning then signing up for college and sitting in a class. If you want to quit then quit if you dont then keep doing it.  The decision is yours to make.  We can&#x27;t not gamble for you.

I think you&#x27;re on the right path, kudd. You&#x27;ve recognized the problem, and are trying to resolve it/recover.Recovering from anything is difficult. You do have to stay away from it (which is VERY difficult-hell, I can place bets on my damn phone), and should listen to people who have recovered. The only place you can do that is GA. If you can&#x27;t get yourself to a meeting, trying finding one online.Once you&#x27;ve heard people losing their car, job, house, wife, etc., you may have some second thoughts. Maybe it will fortify your resolve to "not be like them"I&#x27;d wish you Good Luck, but in this case, you have to make your own.............

I didn&#x27;t post in your original thread.  So here&#x27;s my advice...You obviously can&#x27;t stop gambling.  But you CAN control it.How about you just man-up and take control over your actions?Why not try WINNING for a change?This will involve you NOT being weak-azz and compulsive.Not that difficult.  You have a set gambling bankroll separate from all other expenses.  You set a weekly limit to your losses.  You set a goal for your weekly winnings.  Stick to the plan.Why do some gamblers never grow out of the losing mentality?

i&#x27;m not an expert on addictions but if you are trying to kick a habit, I would have thought you dont "visit&#x27; anything to do with gambling while you are trying to achieve this objective.why are u here kuddish ? you cant be serious in what you want to do if you are posting here.good luck in what you need to do for yourself but if you want to turn you back on this game, I would have thought you would need to cut all ties with your former "state"hope this works out for you

This reminds of my dad with his diabetes.  Its just a big joke he complains he has to take shots yet at night before he takes his shot he&#x27;ll drink three glasses of lemonade and a can of soup or a piece of pie for his snack.  Duh why do you think you have diabetes genious and your blood sugar is high&#xD;&#xA;Its like you&#x27;re still in kindergarten and its a game.  Grow up.  To me you are just looking for sympathy.  You are out of elementary school you should be able to make a decision about money by yourself.  Only you know your finincial situation and what you should be doing.  If you need help get help otherwise just quit there is plenty of other things you can pick up.
