One restaraunt asking that some people not eat there is a lot different than a whole geographic region barring a whole group of people.
And we don't even have the restaraunt's side of the story. For all we know, the cops deserved getting banned.
That won't be the case if there was a serious crime to report at the joint, Stupid decision on the part of the owners and will negatively impact their business big time.

I have a lot of cops that come into my place and eat. We chat a lot. They know I am 100% not with them regarding any of these shootings.
One of them We will call him officer Clark
He got upset when I told him how I felt. I then reminded him how 2 years ago he told me That if he ever had to discharge his firearm it would be to kill. I said why? He said we are trained not to go to trial with a suspect we shot. Dead man tells no tales.
He became more upset when I brought that up.
Then he got scared saying he never said that.
I asked him I now question how many of the justified shoots were actually justified over the last 30 or 40 years before cellphones became prevalent?
I had to tell another officer that growing up I was raised to respect law enforcement I was taught they were My hero's That I could depend on them always.
I said it's pretty sad that a man growing up to respect and admire you now has to teach his children not to respect you but fear you.
This is a problem only you officers can fix. You guys started this with murder upon cold blooded murder all the while hiding behind that badge.
Now that the world can see everything The time has come for you all to reach out to the public YOU YOURSELVES. AND YOUR PEERS ALIENATED. We haven't crossed the point of no return yet. But man it's getting close if things don't change.
The Dallas massacre was just the beginning.

unfortunately there will be NO reaching out and NO apologies, just like your government officials the police absolutely, positively do NOT answer to us the public...they have their masters and agendas to promote and up-hold.....dont anyone hold their breath expecting the police to admit fault on almost anything.
more than any other group in society they are a closed club that protect their own AT ALL COSTS.....when things go wrong or are mis-handled the casualties of this "loyalty" are normally always truth,integrity,justice,morality....nothing important really,at least nothing that shud be placed ahead of ones allegiance to a "special boys club",right???

I was suggesting that they reach out to the public in a way to draw us back on their side and rstore the faith we once had in them.
Community service activities with children for one
Meet and greet gatherings
this way they can see the people as people and not the A typical Victims or Criminals.
Until they do this sort of thing
I do not see our faith in them restored, and the Anti Police rhetoric and violence will only get worse, as will the cold blooded murders they themselves commit.

I was in no way suggesting they apologize.
That would cause a billion lawsuits.

Assuming your story is true, then the cop you spoke to is not very bright, or terribly misinformed, or the indigestion he had from eating at your restaurant was so bad that he could not think straight.
Regardless, cops are trained to shoot for the torso because it is the largest part of the body. If you have ever discharged a pistol of any caliber then you would know you do not shoot it with the same accuracy as you would a rifle. Thus, they aim for the torso. It's that simple.
'Shoot to kill' is nothing more than an expression.
Police are trained to shoot to put an end to a dangerous situation. Ending that situation is the objective, not killing. If there sole objective was a dead suspect there would be head shots.
There is no police training that states "not to go to trial with a suspect we shot". That training never happened, and never will.
Now I can not suggest that I know of every cops motives when they fire their weapon, nor can I speak on what cops discuss amongst themselves during donut break. But I do know that police are NOT trained to shoot so they do not have to go to trial with a suspect

I agree totally, maybe if the cop had a head injury maybe. Total BS that any cop with a brain would say anything like that.

what purpose can it serve? Eventually you get caught telling a lie. And in a forum where I have actually met many members in the real world. My word holds weight.

Ridiculous how you are trying to make it look like some of us view them as The enemy.
Good old mindset of
If you're not with me then you're against me.
Far from celebrating the death of anyone.
If you read above
I said these things are going to happen more and more.
God knows how many thousands of lives were taken unnecessarily by the hands of police officers claiming they had a justified shooting back in the day when cell phones weren't prevalent.
The fact you are using this shooting to call out people. As celebratory who posted in your thread makes me feel sick that I gave my heartfelt opinion on the original topic.
Wish I never posted anything regarding what I feel needs to change to bring the police back to hero status with the public.
