Any good books re Sports Betting I should read?

Hey all just thought I&#x27;d make my first post, don&#x27;t want to make my first post in a serious disccusion.Been an avid reader of these forums (particularly MLB) for the last 3 months.  Theres some great insights on here and just want to thank all you legends for the quality information that gets shared!Have been investing in sports seriously for about 18 months now, however have only just started playing US sports, as I have found they are much more predictable than the games we play over here,. Add on top of that that there are events on every single day, I have found a much better way to add a 2nd income.Have pretty much stopped playing Australian sports (Rugby League, Rugby Union, AFL) thanks to you guys on here, so keep up the good work!Has anyone got any tips on some good books to read that will give me more of an insight to sports betting?Regards,

not much insight, but a book called "The Smart Money" is an entertaining read.

The Smart Money is a wonderful book. The Odds is also good. Trading Bases is one you would want for true insight in finding betting value in baseball.

yeah, "the odds" is a pretty good one as well.....shows the Vegas sports gambling experience from several perspectives......always was curious on whatever became of the characters in that one; from my understanding it was based on real guys and events.

If you want a book that breaks down odds, juice, moneyline betting, parlays, and goes into an in-depth debunking of the Kelly Criterion, then take a look at "How Professionals Beat the Pro Football Point Spread" by RJ Miller. The book may not look like much, but it does illustrate a few key points regarding money management and just how the Vig can gut a bankroll.

Smart Money is good. Lay the Favorite was a fun read as well. I also recommend Trading Bases. I haven't read Millman's "The Odds" yet but that's on my to-do list. I also endorse the Miller "How to beat the Pro Football point spread." A little bit old in terms of info but its more about learning from the process and getting insight into the mindset of how to approach this thing we do.

Good topic!&#xD;&#xA;Is there a book, maybe perhaps from and analytical perspective, of how they come up with the odds. Different formula&#x27;s used, what factors are used to determine the spread, etc.,
