In the movie, "The Blues Brothers", she was a tour de force, belting out "Respect", and turning it into a woman's anthem! (Hawk's Old Man knowledge Hint: it was originally written by Otis Redding!), she changed a few words, and BOOMSHACKALACKA!

Originally, the song was to be sung by Rose Royce, who had a hit with 'Car Wash' from the movie with the same name.

But, Belushi and Akroyd, held their ground, and said, look, we got Cab Calloway, Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker, and James Brown..............and you want to throw this one-hit wonder into THIS mix? They threatened to halt production unless they got her, and the rest is history......
