Betting -1000 favorites

So im thinking what if the bucks are up 15 in the half and theres 5 mins left.. lines -1000 they win the first half? Pretty much a lock at that point, so i put 5000$ on them to win 500$ has anyone done this and been successful? 

Esp if you know its a full blown winner, like -2500 .. why not make a easy 200$? Theres like a 98% chance your gunna win ..

What % of bets you have to win to profit with this system?  Why do you think everyone isn’t doing this?

The only way you will be successful is if the "books odds" are better than the "true odds".  If the book gives you -1000, you need to win 10%, but the true odds (according to the book) will be 5%.  If you are convinced the books are wrong, then place the bet, but the books have extensive databases they use to create their odds, and you most likely just have your gut.

Just because it is -1000 doesn't make it a lock, and you don't have to lose that many before you are in a deep hole.

Have you even been watching the NBA in the last 15 years. There aren't any short cuts in this shit, bro. You gotta do the capping. Wait for the right scenario, an advantage, and exploit it. There are advantages to be had in some high ML wagers in, say, tennis but in the big 3 team sports? Heck no! -1000? In the NBA? The most unfundamental, inconsistent league there is. Naw, bruh. Don't do it.

you lose 1 game and you done , your better off taking $1000 and putting $100 on 10/1 INPLAY and watch how you make more money , you would have to lose 10 of these bets to get wiped out.
