Juror #52, now identified as Brandon Mitchell, is also encouraging people to try to get on juries to “spark some change.”
During jury selection, Mitchell claimed that he had very little knowledge of the case. However, Mitchell was photographed last August wearing a shirt that read “Get your knee off our necks” and “BLM.”
Minneapolis’ FOX 9 reporter Paul Blume reported in March that “Judge Cahill asked Juror #52, whether he heard anything about the #GeorgeFloyd civil case. He says, no. He explained hearing some basic info about trial dates, etc from the news in recent months, but nothing that would keep him from serving as impartial juror. #ChauvinTrial”

“Juror #52 wrote in his jury questionnaire that he wondered why other police officers at the scene did not intervene in #GeorgeFloyd deadly arrest. He recognizes the historic nature of the case. Defense says he is an acceptable juror. So state’s turn to question,” Blume added. I attempted to edit my post and was ten seconds too late. Sorry

It seems to me part of Chauvins attorney obligation in seeking a fair trial is to investigate each of the jurors, beforehand. This could've and should've been discovered prior to trial had someone been doing their job, and juror number 52 would have been recused. That being said, Chauvin is exactly where he should be, in prison, and for a long time.

Well said. I'm totally on the side of law enforcement, but I'm well aware of the handful of jackoffs that exist within the system and are there for all the wrong reasons. Good to see one go down.

As expected, Chauvins attorney files for a new trial. Not a legal expert here but juror 52 should not have been on that jury. Not defending Chauvin, he is where he should be. Could be interesting-

The jets could be better than I expect ...Just saw Quimen William's has a broken foot now ....I'm not a Fan of Saleh , but who knows , he reminds of that cheerleader who coached at Vandy and Penn state ...
It's nearly impossible to get an impartial trial when there is video of you kneeling on someone's neck for 9+ minutes ...
Jury trials are subject to error ..That Piece of shet OJ should have gotten life..

"In the United States, voir dire is the process by which prospective jurors are questioned about their backgrounds and potential biases before being chosen to sit on a jury. If the defense can prove the juror lied, as well as other jurors, they will be charged with perjury.

Based on what I've seen, there appears to be a legitimate case of lying or misleading your actions or beliefs. And if proven guilty of perjury what then? It seems logical a new trial could be granted. I hope not but I can see a case being made for it.

The reality here is that the voir dire questions, as Cano referenced, did address the issue and the juror now states he does not recall wearing the t-shirt that stated (parapgrasing) Get Off Our Necks.
This is a huge problem for the State. It is not grounds for an automatic mistrial but it raises the legitimate argument that he was not convicted by a 12 impartial jurors.

Slam-dunk perjury. The social media photo of him wearing the “I Can’t Breathe” Floyd shirt with friends before going out on a march is damning.
Dude said he didn’t know too much about the case, just some blurbs from the TV and such.
Then he goes on national TV to say he wanted to be on the jury to spark social change.
A junior-high debate captain could get a perjury conviction on this guy.
