Brian Sabean, did you not see what Pete Rose did in the 1970 all star game to Ray Fosse?

You took on the fuckin' job as the GM of the San Francisco Giants for i don't know how many years, yet a clean play happens to a member of your organization and you want to cry foul?  Obviously you have never played a single game in the major leagues, you have never played a single game in the minor leagues, and you probably had never watched a single game of baseball prior to you being hired as the giants GM.  If you had any fuckin' clue as to what the hell has been going on since baseball was born you would know about Mike Scioscia blocking the plate for many years while he was still playing.  Why do you take the job knowing that shit can happen like this, knowing that you are at risk at losing an asset/assets?  I have never heard of any advocacy on your part regarding what Pete Rose did to Ray Fosse, and it happened IN A MEANINGLESS ALL-STAR game in 1970.  At least Scott Cousins bowled over Buster Posey for what turned out to be the game winning run on top of that Buster Posey refuses to be receptive to Scott Cousin's apology attempts?  Just cause the Giants got swept by the Marlins, just because you lost your rookie of the year/team most valuable player as your starting catcher, TAKE IT LIKE A FUCKIN' MAN.  Shit happens in life, Major League Baseball certainly does not need to do anything further because it is was a CLEAN PLAY.  If you wanted to wait till the next meeting happens in regards to MLB rule changes regarding plays at the plate, that is a different story, but to go out in the public forum and wish harm upon Scott Cousins like that is bullcrap.  The San Francisco Giants organization should be ashamed of themselves.

Any chance a fine coming from MLB to Sabean? It's funny how players and managers can be fined at the drop of a hat but a GM can get away with inciting hatred and death threats against a player, and openly wishing that the guy suffers a career ending injury and disappears off the face of the earth.

I have always hated Sabean. He freaking lucked into the title last year, and this is coming from a Giants fan. We all know it. He is completely out of line here and I hope he does get hit with a hefty fine. He's being a little beeyotch and makes me sad for my favorite organization. Embarrassing.

The worst part is I'm reading that Cousins has received death threats... oh, and did we mention he's also from the Bay? Terrible.

I am all for collisions but Posey was not blocking the plate on that play and he was not in the baseline. Cousins went out of his way to run him over

Posey is solely the one to blame for all this and deserves NO apology from Cousins.  If anything, Sabean should be demanding that Posey apologize to Cousins for getting in his way.  Catchers should not even be allowed to block home plate, so they deserve to get run over.  This stupid rule needs to be changed; otherwise, you might as well allow third basemen to trip runners as they are heading home.

He was definitely blocking some of home plate, and at point of impact moving towards blocking even more of the plate.

Busted Posey. The only thing Cousins did wrong was apologize. He did what was legal. End of story.

Anyone take a look at Fosses career stats after Rose plowed him? He was going to be the AL's answer to Johnny Bench..........not quite. Had 16 homers at the Break, two after. Ask and Indians fan for an unbiased opinion........

it wasn't like he was waiting for him with ball in hand....bang,bang,,,totally a baseball play.......no foul in my opinion.

The ball hit Posey's glove...Posey turned to apply the tag. No way can Cousins know that he didn't have the ball. As Posey turned...he has to think that he has to run him down. If he tries to slide...and Posey has the ball...he could easily get tagged.

It's a legal play. You're gonna play catcher-prepare to get hit.
