Better really check the vehicle history and service records with a teenage German car. Upkeep is key because if something goes wrong, the mechanic bill will be more than the car is worth. Could be a fun drive for you and good for your climate. And for an older used car, it will still carry some prestige.

Hard to find people to work on them if you don't live in a large metro area. And the cost of parts? Fugetaboutit!
If there's anything wrong with it, the cost would outweigh the value of the car. You can work on them yourself. They aren't Tesla's but yeah, parts would be expensive as shit. It's the people's wagon Touareg chassis also shared by that little Audi thing so they are common enough for cheap(er) Rock Auto parts to exist for certain things but I just checked out Rock Auto for shites and giggles and good luck on finding any in stock. It's like I said though, you buy a car like that, you have to accept that it may very well be a throw away. If you enjoy driving for driving sake, and if you enjoy driving European cars, you can put together a fleet of really fun to drive luxury cars for around 5-20K each but let me be clear, I don't believe in financing used cars. Such purchases should be looked at as toys purchased with cash. If one is looking to finance a used car, looking for that car to be their reliable daily driver, I would recommend a Honda, Toyota, or in his region, a Subie, which he himself mentioned.
However, knowing a little something about nature, I think the Porsche suits him, with the exception of the fact that I always viewed Cayennes as being kind of chick cars

I was talking with the wifey, and mentioned a Porsche so the eye roll
obviously I was thinking boxter or 911 sport car.
And I noticed that Porche made an SUV. The turbo s is 540 horsepower
the defect for the model seems to be the coolant system the pipes tend to over heat get brittle and break causing the engine to over heat.
After market up grades deal with a metal substitute for the plastic radiator hoses.
Didn't know if anyone had any real experience with the model but I like to have a toy. Had a firebird formula it was nice took it to Virginia beach and back once upon a time.
Dreaming I suppose.

In my opinion, the Porsche Cayenne is quite an expensive car. But if you can afford it, why not.
I bought a Porsche Cayenne and I'm satisfied. It is a perfect car and fits well even for a family. I took the car from other country, and regarding shipping I found out all the necessary information from this blog : https://www.a1autotransport.com/porsche/?ab_test=true . so the car arrived pretty quickly.

They are great cars but get the V8. If you get the GTS or Turbo keep in mind the thing comes standard with an air ride suspension, and when it breaks you're looking at $10 to 25k! Mine was reliable with high miles but the torque converter was a little twitchy.
