Several Years ago when I lived in Dallas,I was at a Black tie fund raiser for the Notre Dame School(for kids with mental disabilities). This event was and I believe still is held every year.Several local business's donated many items, gift certicates, trips, etc.I bought a autograhed Dallas Maverick basketball of the 1986-1987 season Dick Motta's last season during one of those events.I had bought tickets to several Maverick and Stars games in the past.
The ball is signed by Mark Aguire,Uwe Blab,Rolondo Blackman,Brad Davis,James Donaldson,Derek Harper,Dennis Nutt,Sam Perkins,Detlef Schrempf,Roy Tarpley,Bill Wennington and Al Wood.
My question is how do I obtain a Certificate of Authenticity Certificate?I've had several offers to buy it but can't find a certificate for it.I paid $300 for it ,however I really don't know what it's worth.

You can send it to PSA, but it will be pretty expensive, and not worth it. You can make up your own certificate or sell it with the documentation that you got at time of purchase. If you lost that, contact the charity.

there are authenticators out there who will look at the ball and issue a COA. they typically charge by the signature and the prices are in a range based on which auto has the best value. the entire process is pricey so you have to consider if you're willing to spend $100+ for an item that may only be worth $300. these authenticators may or may not appraise the item, so you may have to get another party to do that. i would recommend that you research online yourself to determine what you think the ball is worth based on the signatures you have and sell the ball without the COA. but offer a money back guarantee if the buyer comes back within 30-60 days and if they present something that shows that the ball is not authentic.

The Mavs had a great season that year. I would guess that it would bring 800.00 to 1200.00 if you can prove it is authentic, and if the ball is in great condition.
