As simple as the thread title states...what changes do you most want to see in each of the professional sports.
NFL - A Super Bowl stadium built in Las Vegas. Have each of the owners throw in some money and build a mega-stadium in Vegas. Sell out the naming rights every 5 years to the top bidding company to pay back the owners and give billions to charity or concussion research or whatever. Weather is never an issue. Immediately becomes the ultimate dude trip weekend. Have the Pro Bowl there the week before. Add in a skills competition again. One of my best ideas I think I've had...I know the gambling aspect of it would be the major argument against...but it's so much less than what it used to be in Vegas.
NHL - Opposite of what they are doing now. Eliminate 6-7 teams to get down to 24 teams. Hold an entry draft from the eliminated teams to get the players on teams. Every team immediately becomes better, fans will actually know more than 3 guys on their team, and the product on the ice becomes better. Divide those 24 teams up into 12 American teams and 12 Canadian teams. Brings a little bit of the Olympic feel and national pride to the playoffs. The 12th largest Canadian city has over 300,000 people and each of the top 12 cities has been growing in population. I know there would be a lot of butthurt fans in some cities, but I'm sorry Tampa, Miami, Columbus, Nashville, Anaheim, Phoenix, Dallas, and Las Vegas. You don't need hockey. I'm also looking really closely at you San Jose.
MLB - Eliminate defensive shifts. All-Star game doesn't count for anything with the World Series. National League gets a DH. Home Run Derby goes back to the 10 out system. Salary Cap. Bump the season down to 100 games and start the season on Memorial Day weekend. No reason to start in the beginning of April when snow is still an issue in several cities, as well as the NBA and NHL playoffs starting to kick into gear.
Would love to hear some other great ideas that us armchair schmucks have !!

NHL - Two-line pass rule needs to be reinstated and get rid of the Dodecagon behind the net. No need to bisect the phuckin thing so the goalie can play the puck behind his net. 3-on-3 OT should not determine the outcome of a game and neither should a shoot-out.
It's simple as this; 5-on-5 OT for 5 minutes. Teams tie, 1 point each. Team wins, 2 points to the victor and 0 points for the loser. This 1 point OT loss sh!t needs to come to an end.
More Canadian teams. Nashville, Las Vegas, Carolina, TB, FL, San Jose, AZ should NOT have teams.
Simple Rule: If your area doesn't even have high school ice hockey, you should not have a professional hockey team. It killed me moving from North Jersey to the Tampa Bay area when I was in high school to learn that my new school didn't have an ice-hockey team. Good riddance to that God-forsaken state.

NFL - I wouldn't mind the one point if the kickoff goes through the uprights they've been thinking of, why not? They already moved the extra point back and there's been a lot more misses this season, why not throw this bonus point in the mix.....

I can get behind that...but it wouldn't happen because it would actually make sense for the NFL to further their "safety" initiative. They've been completely bass ackward on their rules and the safety thing.
Moving the touchback to the 25 means that teams no longer bomb it through the endzone which leads to more returns....not the other way around like they thought.

NCAAF - Kind of eliminate the conferences. Take the 66 teams that are currently in the "Power 5"...add in 14 teams that have at one point or are currently somewhat relative to make 80 teams in the "New BCS". Split up those 80 teams among 8 "conferences" of 10 teams based on geographical location. Make sure major rivals are not in the same "conference". North A/B. South A/B. West A/B. East A/B. Each "conference" plays the other 9 teams and has two weeks of open scheduling. That open schedule must either be a geographical rival or team in another conference. No more Alabama vs. Charleston Southern stupidity. Winners of the 8 conferences are automatically in an 8-team playoff, in which the committee votes on the rankings. Keep the bowls, keep all that jazz...just re-work it to make sense.

I say in the regular season it goes right to the shootout. No reason to bore us with another 20 minute period or 5 minute period or anything.
In the playoffs it starts off with 5 on 5 overtime. At the 10 minute mark if there is no goal...automatic timeout and we bump down to 4 on 4. At the 5 minute mark we go down to 3 on 3. If it somehow makes it through all that go to a shootout.
I don't mind the idea of more ice space...but I do love the idea of putting more pressure on the goalies as the OT gets deeper.

PGA - Mandatory minimum tournaments played. Announcing of all suspensions and the reasons behind them. More team events. Much much more cooperation between the USGA, PGA, and R&A on the damn rules.
NASCAR - Have them drive their own cars. No pre-race modifications. Then they might actually crown the best driver!! As you can tell, I'm not really into NASCAR
