Not if they can make more money selling the broadcast rights to the big networks. Besides NFL Channel isn't in every household with a TV right now.

It took me a while to find this thread and now that we are FORCED to watch the playoff games on Peacock...I see this happening sooner than we think

The NFL seems to be heading into Pay Per View waters . I'm not going to pay Amazon for Thursday night football or NFL Plus or Peacock.
I can see now top weekly match-ups becoming pay per view games .

There's going to be lots more of one-offs like the KC playoff game on Peacock last weekend. Across all pro sports, on channels like Fubo, Amazon Prime, Paramount+ etc..
It's a big money move and not everyone is going to pay up. I read an article that Mark Cuban sees pro sports in a massive bubble and that's part of the reason why he's selling the Mavs.

Imagine if it did though
Superbowl on payperview only $39.99 or if you're already a premium annual subscriber you get it for the low price of $14.99

Too many viewers to lose by going subscriber or streaming service only and would alienate a lot of the people who don't normally watch football during the year but tune into see the SB just because it's the Superbowl
would lose a lot of potential ad revenue too if numbers were to drop suddenly
