Pretty wild, but I think its the news anchor's fault. She is touching the dogs face and puts her own face into the dogs face. The dog obviously felt threatened. You just don't do that to a dog you don't know.

They aren't putting him down. He's being quarantined for 10 days, which is standard, then being released to his owner.

It was just idiotic to put that dog in that environment.

 The dumb woman does everything wrong and knows nothing about animal behaviour. First of all this ain't no lap dog sweetheart. She gets down eye level with a strange dog that doesn't know her, positions her head inches above the dog's head and staring down at the dog in a classic position of dominance.

I'm a fireman, and when we go into houses on medical calls, and the owner has dogs, one of the most common lines is, "don't worry he/she doesn't bite".
and our retort is "he/she has teeth doesn't he/she?" and fuck that, not going in til they're put up.  Especially since in our first due most have a pit or rotty.
I love dogs, and have one myself, but you never know how they'll act when they know or think their owner is in distress

What are you talking about? The news shows invite the guy with the dog. It was a "feel good" story. The owner doesn't show up and say, "hey, I am going to be on your show today".

Just because you are asked to show up doesn't mean you have to actually appear. This guy had 6 different appearence lined up that day and this was number 2. Was that much actually necessary? Wasn't one enough? I mean hell the dog couldn't really enjoy getting shipped around being around all these new people could he?

Right before the fuckers bite "oh he doesn't bite" then the response is Oh my that is the first time he has ever done such a thing... I learned to use the fucking dog spray to protect myself from that point on and I used it a few times.
