I watched some of this. I dont know if I saw a rerun or the new one.
Here are my thoughts as it pertains to a gambling discussion website.....
These people have a serious deficiency in calculating odds and should never gamble. The one I saw had a guy who was afraid the yellowstone volcano was going to blow, and another guy who thought there was going to be an EMP - this guy blew his hand off with a gun shortly after proclaiming how guns were the best thing since sliced bread.
My problem with all of this is - these people seriously misinterpret the odds vs effort of what could happen. It is closer to OCD than it is to "prepping" - these people have serious medical issues. They spend hundreds of hours and countless dollars prepping for something specific that has a remote chance of happening - and even if it did happen - the chances of them being truly prepared for the random events to follow are infintesimal.
It was sad to see the kids of all of this. Its almost child abuse.
Like I said, these people should never gamble.

I’ve never watched the show, but based on the commercials I have to wonder how real the show is.
Real survivalists/preppers are very big into operational security. They don’t want people outside their family and maybe a few trusted friends to know what they have and where they have it.

I definitely agree that a lot of these folks have an obsession. A paranoia, borderline mental illness, being acted out as some sort of "being prepared".
It's one thing to have a couple weeks of supplies on hand. But some of these folks almost seem like they want a bomb to be dropped or a black plague to happen.
