Matt "Megatoad" Stonie upset eight-time defending champion Joey "Jaws" Chestnut to win the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest by polishing off 62 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes to Chestnut's 60 in Coney Island on Saturday.

"I trained hard for this, and I came prepared," Stonie said after paying homage to Chestnut.

Tim "Eater X" Janus was a distant third, stomaching 35 hot dogs and buns.

Stonie's total fell shy of Chestnut's record 69, which the San Jose, California, native set at the 2013 contest.

that was truly disgusting to &#x27;watch".but that aside, I have an issue with the numbers, they eat dogs, then buns, difficult to see how they can accurately count.and stonie has been beating chestnut in 1 on 1 contests so was;t such a big upset

The next closest eater was nearly 30 dogs away I believe.&#xD;&#xA;Because of that, I would have wanted at least 9 or 10-1. &#xD;&#xA;But in terms of an upset, it is monumental. Chestnut won 8 times in a row previously.
