My best friend was drunk as hell driving home from a party back in 2004. He was also my roommate at the time.
He went around a curve too fast and flipped it over. He wasnt' wearing a seat belt and flew out the window. The car landed on top of his head.
I was sad that i lost my best friend over something so stupid.
that wasn't the hard part though....
his daughter just turned 8 yrs old. thats what really gets to me.
she has to grow up never knowing who her father is.
I know you guys are just joking around, but this one hit me close to home and brought back memories of a great friend that was lost due to the fact that he just made one bad decision.

You my friend jmil are a wise man beyond your years. From this senseless loss you recognized that the real suffering and pain from the loss of your friend wasn't yours but his daughters, who would never truly know her father. Hopefully your touching post will open up enough eyes to the risks of driving drunk that another child will not have to feel the emptiness that your friends daughter did. This thread and your post in particular opened up some old wounds that have healed but will never go away. I lost my sister at the age of 16 to a drunken driver. I was only 14 years old at the time, so it was later in life that I really felt the loss. Her and three friends were attending a High School dance, the first real date she had ever been on in her short life. Unfortunately, all four kids were killed in the crash, and the drunken sailor that crashed into them survived. Something that my grieving mother during the services that will always stay with me. She said we all not only had to pray for the souls of the children lost, but for the survivor, who would have to live in hell for the rest of his life. I only wish that more people could see through there own personal loses and look at the big picture, like you've done. Hopefully this thread will stay alive and some childs life will be affected in a positive way instead of another senseless tradegy.
BOL and keep the faith RIP Carla
