Favorite travel destinations in Europe

To Americans,  cities such as London, Paris, Rome, Venice and Prague get lots of marketing. These are all wonderful cities, if experienced, just like any other travel destination one could have a love/hate relationship with any of these.No matter where you go, there will always be tourists. My favorites are always the hoards of Asians, with the cameras shooting a 100 shots an hour.But what are some places any travelers here experienced that they would recommend?

Vienna captured my heart, spent more time there and bypassed other destinations. It&#x27;s a beautiful town with a vibrant night life. The poker room was a dump with some shady players, but took a few hundred euro off em in a 1-2 game. Museum of military history was great and one could spend an entire day at schonbrunn palace. Will be back for more. Just two hours from Budapest which to me offers more than Prague which seems too commercialized.

What about Avignon?Never even heard of it.One of my favorites was San Sebasti&#xE1;n in northern Spain. It was quaint with gorgeous town with spectacular views, good food, access to hash, and not too touristy. Beach was great. Perfect for an in between, after Paris and before Barcelona.

Tourists or no tourists, Paris is a must.

Def a big fan of the French and Italian Riviera's. You can easily backpack from Nice~Monaco~Genoa~Cinque Terre. Great scenery, good drinks, and better food. Two cultures in a few days is possible. Cinque Terre has increased in popularity over the past few years, but it's still an off the beaten track spot.

Salzburg in Austria is great spot. Can go from there to Munich. Beer halls and scenery. Location of the Sound of Music through that pass. I didn't dance in any daisy fields or anything, but you could after a few liters.

Didn't get a chance to make Croatia a few years back. That would be next stop if I was on that side of the pond.

Croatia is a must and will be a destination on the next trip across the pond.Airfare is so cheap in Europe that just about any place is accessible. One trip I did this past was to fly to athens from Bratislava for $45 and back for $93. The main draw aside from the acropolis, was the catch a champions league match. FC bayern vs Olympiacos. Which was was on the most memorable live sporting events of my life. I had no idea of the customs involved, how fans are segregated to their respective sides. Taxi driver did me no favor dropping me off at the home team gates. The harrassment endured on that walk was brutal, but the game itself and experience was amazing. Met a great group of krauts and sailed the Greek isles the following day. Utterly amazing time.Athens however, was one of the dirtiest and grimiest places I&#x27;ve ever seen. The graffiti was just too much to bear.

every american should go to amsterdam, its so much more than the tolerated pot thing, its such a cool, amenable place, there's hardly any cars, you'll barely see police and everyone is chilled out whilst all the vices you like in life are available on every other street corner.

Major cities I like: Paris, Seville, Copenhagen, Saint Petersburg, Wroclaw, Cluj, Bologna, and Riga.

Cities that suck: Madrid, Dublin, Prague, Bruges, Berlin, Helsinki, Sofia, and Milan.

Moldova has the hottest women. Spain the hottest men. For the ladies of course.
