Just another day in the Mr Rodgers Stock Market neighborhood. What goes up must come down but long term it's a 9.8% yield in the S&P. You really don't need much more advice than that if you dollar cost average every month with a company match.
BTW that's the best investment advice someone less than 30'ish ever gets. Put it in a dull, not sexy, not hot sheet of the day sector or stock. Find 1 of those mutual funds that mimic the S&P with a 0.15% fee, a nice and small fee and your good to go till retirement. You can always find a Russel, Naz and International fund to mix it up but remember it needs a very small fee. Long term it just returns cash, period. Just keep compounding and adding pre tax. Any idiot can do it.
Well and then, ....... divorce....... because your 40'ish and getting divorced because (fill in the blanks) _ _ _ _ _ _ _ , then that dwi (not me but I know so many who have been in this situation, HINT, HINT), a couple of broke but really hot & horny recently separated/divorced girlfriends, the recently separated or close to separated are the best and then your deeek almost falls off. Damn, but you're always smiling for some reason. The kids car repairs, alimony, child support...... but I digress.
Build that 401k with the company match back up. Do it yet again.. As you get into your early 50's you realize the women are still as crazy and horny as ever before but now, sometimes, for some reason......... sometimes, 1 is 1 too many. Stay the 401k course, find the girl with minimual drama AND who has her own money. If you know what I mean. Real important finacially is a 2 way street.
In the end, your back finacially, knocking off a piece every now and again and using Uber like using a 17 year old best friend who just got his license when you were 16.

Because she found God and I got tired of having 3 - 5 priests over for dinner 2 - 3 times a week. Actually the church consumed her. Thank the Lord as my kids and I are much better without her. Disclaimer: this isn't a diss toward religion.
