Getting title to car....

Question

I paid off a rig about 2-3 months ago &amp; it occurred to me that I hadn&#x27;t gotten the title yet..........just some "affidavit" form from the CU. So I call on it &amp; find out I have to take this form to the DMV  to get my title.............the form &amp; $19.  WTF is this shiitt? They used to just mail you the title shortly after you paid it off.............now you gotta pay to get it?  Like I don&#x27;t pay this fukkkin state enough drive a vehicle around..........JFC! This shiiiiitttt never ends.

That&#x27;s messed up. I&#x27;ve also had the bank send it to me once it&#x27;s paid off, never had to pay anything. Just another scam to get more money, makes me sick. It&#x27;s your vehicle, just should just send you the damn title

My guess is the banks doesn&#x27;t have a physical title to send you.  They hold an "electronic title" on a computer at the DMV.

Same here. And they have pricing tiers here. You can get it on the spot for like $15 or mailed to residence a week later for $7. It never ends and will only get worse.

I paid off my rig and got a lien release from the lender. I then sold for cash to a dealership. The lien release was enough.  But if you are keeping your ride, you want the title. Follow directions and suck it up unfortunately. Nothing free anymore.

It&#x27;s not the $$ that irks me..........just the principle. I have enough shiitt to do.........don&#x27;t need to be chasing down stuff that used to be, &amp; still should be, handled automatically.

I recently moved from PA to TX and had to go through the whole process with the vehicle...

I could pay $50 to have the title transferred into a TX title, or I could pay $50 to do nothing. Since I intend to return to PA, I paid $50 to sign a paper and have them file it.

Of course, my home is in the T&C.

I just paid off the Mercedes that I bought my wife. It was a five year loan, so I went on line and put it in her name two months ago. Gave me a confirmation but yesterday the payment for registration and smog check (rip off) came and its still in my name. Any experts here?
