Happy Thanksgiving to everyone Watching the Macy' s Day parade. Paw patrol's Chase just came through in a big balloon. Lived most of my life in NY and about 10 or 12 years ago went to my 1st parade. Only live an hour north of NYC but never went to it Watching it on TV was better.. So about 10 years ago one of my best friends is asst commissioner of NYPD. 2nd in command. He gets me bleacher seats with all the VIP's Politicians, actors presidents of NYC corporations, etc I get 6 tickets on the main street. Only he doesn't tell me its 1st come 1st serve. After some traffic with about 10 minutes before the parade starts my crew park and find the VIP stands. We get there and the bleachers are full no room I show a few police officers of my personal letter from Pat and right away I have 3 cops taking me and my family across the street to the CBS building side walk thats almost empty. They find a few folding chairs for us and we have a better view then across the street and only a few executives of CBS are there,, no crowd at all A female police officer brings us hot chocolate from a truck and asks us If we need anything else. We all all fine BUt its about 20 degrees and the wind chill is about 2 degrees . Its so cold. And that is why I watched the parade my whole life at home on TV . But my wife has all my kids in layered sweaters ,gloves and winter jackets . we were prepared but its still cold. Kermit the frog big ,bird come by and my 4 little ones really don't care its sooo cold they want to go home Then we see a grate from under ground. Its the subway tunnel below us but we feel heat coming up,, wow so nice almost a heater under us We watched the parade with this nice warm air coming from underground. The parade was nice we saw actors music groups etc tv people etc When the parade was over we had a police officer walk us over to out reserved parking space. I think it was when we were crossing the George Washington Bridge going home one of my daughters said from the back seat : look at my under wear. its all black. " then my other day said " mine too" And then my son and other daughter said the same thing. Then my wife said her bra was black. I'm driving saying WTF are you guys talking about . What had happened was we all huddled on that subway grate to get heat but it was smoot smut that was coming up from the subway.. not heat but the smut was warm lol By the time I got home my legs and under ware had subway smut on them. About an hour ago my daughter in Philly called here in Austin to wish us a happy thanksgiving She was watching the Macy's day parade on TV and said Dad " do you remember when you took us to the parade and we all had to take showers when we got home.. Oh how can i ever forget that .. anyway Happy thanksgiving to everybody here and be safe
