so apparently to get the money into your bank account you can't just use a wallet? i need to use an exchange like coinbase?
Since you are new to it.. I would suggest coinbase.. But create a blockchain wallet first.. Have the funds sent there.. Then from blockchain send it to your coinbase and you can get it in your bank that way

thanks. i read that some banks dont allow you to buy bitcoin. i know my bank (Td bank) does not. so would it be an issue to withdraw funds into the bank?
also kind of seems ridiculous that a bank can prevent you from spending your own money on what you want.
