When our men and women return from war we need to help them adjust from the madness they have seen since serving. Everyone will not adjust to being home simultaneously. Some will take longer than others while others will never to return to "their" normal.
Housing, jobs, medical needs, continued education should be a given & equal for all. Many will return home damaged.
However, some coward that goes into work & shoots up the place because they don't like working nights or their supervisors or because they got a shitty raise....they should burn in hell.
Arguments previously settled in the school yard mano y mano are now settled with guns. Guns were not available when I was growing up. Those who had guns were responsible with them other than the occasional suicide. At least these folks weren't killing anyone else.

You start as unfair as it seemed that the losers that entered the military really shouldn't have been given kevlar. At the time I despised Pelosis vote against the armor for go in Iraq and Afghanistan.
But after witnessing how wrong our government treats the returning gi. And how they devise ways and means to drive them from the military as without a war troop levels must decrease.
It probably would of better had they lost their lives as hero than freeze to death on a lark bench.
