I know this is going to sound Totally Insane... But...

How about starting by staying away from gambling???

If you actually, really and truly were to decide to stop drinking you would stay away from bars... Same principle...

Do Not log on to gambling websites...

Try Goggling gambling addiction help

I would wish you luck but I really do not believe you are serious...

The best way is to go hardcore balls to the wall betting way over your head with your local bookie each week....
If you win enjoy it because gambling is not a problem when your winning...

If you lose run up a tab sky high chasing that you'll never be able to pay! I promise you your local will be able to put an end to your gambling. He may even teach you a lesson you're never gonna forget.

P.S. Gamblers are not usually quitters so best thing to do is learn to manage your impulses the best you can. That's all you can do man to be honest.

If I may make a suggestion. I have a never lost situation coming up in the WNBA this week that Im pretty confident will be my WNBA Game of the Year.

Been playing this game every year since inception of the league and it has NEVER lost.

Play that pick and it will get you back in the right direction. I would suggest borrowing money to increase your bet on this game. After it wins you can pay it back with interest.

It's like quitting smoking. Just quit straight up and have the will power. It's ok to slip up a couple times on your journey.

it's like an alcoholic who can't stop drinking, they can only kill themselves.  What can an alcoholic basically do if they want to keep living?  Well they need to learn how to control themselves.  If they can't do that, then they might as well die and hopefully every on-looker can learn from that experience.

If you keep losing your behind off, then you need to either keep your monetary losses under better control next time so that you stop betting the money you should be using for groceries or you can reflect on all the bets that you have done.  

Get into the betting patterns out there of all the gamblers of people putting coin on games.  i'll give you 2 examples from baseball today.  rays had matt moore at safeco field pitching against the mariners scrub named erasmus ramirez or whatever and then you had homer bailey at home vs the dodgers and clayton kershaw.  Both sides had masses amount of people betting on kershaw and matt moore.  the rays were able to finally win a game on the west coast, but let me tell you, so many people cannot even fathom betting on the mariners and the reds today.  If you laid bets on the reds and the mariners separately, despite you going 1-1, you would have still made a tiny profit.  But this all basically adds up when you do this on a consistent basis throughout the season, especially if you're picking the shitty teams like the astros every now and then.  You just have to learn when to pick the spots knowing that a record you might have under .500 will still net you a profit.  

And i will also warn you that this same approach for baseball does not work especially for the NFL, but you might not have 10 years to finally experience this.

There was another thread I posted on last month. Some guy came in touting how much better life was without gambling. The only support you'll get from covers is a bunch of sarcastic jokes.

I'll make two points though.

#1. If you are a gamble-holic and chronically go broke, think of where you want to be in the near future. You will never get there if you keep gambling. 1 week down for me.

#2. If you want to stop, you have to stop right now. The further you get into the season, the harder it will be to stop. I've had a nice 7 month break since the niners farked me in the SB.

stop watching sports... and if u have a house spend all ur money on re-furnishing it.. keep ur mind excited with things like that... u cant just sit around and do nothing or u will go back
