If you could have been born at any other time in American history when would it be and why?
I was born in 1965 and wished that I had been born in the 1940. As of now this year, 2018 makes the it the 15th year Las Vegas, Nevada has been home for me. Many of the older people naturally share so many stories regading life when the Mob was in charge here. Now basically two factions run this place (Caesars Entertainment and MGM Resorts International) I can hear Goose yelling his trademark slogan right about now too!
Living here in my twenties which would have been the case had I been born in 1940 and migrated here by way of Ohio as I done years ago would really have been a wonderful time to be here. Yes the advancments in technology and medicine that exist today is a HUGE tradeoff but the times then as compared to now are so drastically different. I work with some people also that were born and raised here and they tell me of the days when it was no bigger than a postage stamp.
This is home for me now even though it's commercialized to all hell and beyond. But the days of Bugsy Malone & Frank Rosenthal, along with Michael Spilotro and his brother Anthony really must have been a great time to be here!

I was born in 1956. Perfect. Too young for Vietnam. Too old for Desert Storm. Any drug I wanted was easily obtainable and very cheap. Muscle cars were the rage. Bob Dylan. Jimi Hendrix. The Beatles. The Stones. The Who. Led Zeppelin.
Yeah, the mob controlled the neighborhoods. And you know what? Nobody locked their cars or the front doors of their houses because if there was trouble the mob bosses brought justice down. And justice was served very fast. NOBODY dared fukked with the mob!!!
That was the way it was and you know what? It was a better world.

Born in the 50's but would have liked being a teen then
Before my time, but the 50's have always fascinated me. It just seemed like a really cool time to be alive. The decade after the great war was won and people were happy.

The early 60's was a little crazy. Nuclear War threat was very serious business. As a kid in grammar school they used to make us practice getting under our desks. Like that was going to save anybody. LOL. But we were young and stupid and knew no better.
CBS news with Walter Cronkite was crushing any other competition. He was like a God. Whatever he said people believed his every word. Not like today when you tune in to see CNN or Fox and know immediately they are all fake as fukk.
The assassinations. The race riots with Blacks getting fire hosed. The Space Race. Vietnam War and all the protests. All these things burned into your brain watching Black & White TV.
