Of course they know that what they believe is false hence that's why I call them COWARDS. Because that is what they are. They refuse to face the truth and hide behind the lie that is atheism. I agree with you completely Rostos. I have encountered many atheist on the net and they all say the same boring thing. "Where is the proof" "Show me the evidence" They refuse to see the truth and the fact is no "evidence" will ever be good enough for them. Jesus himself could materialize and they would find a way to rationalize it. So all they have left is to try to belittle and cut down believers. Then there other argument is "look at all the bad things Christians do" as if that somehow proves there is no God. It's quite infantile and highly arrogant but they can't see that. They are caught up in their own lonely atheist world where they can hide behind their own rational lies and feel safe. 

This is the funny thing that atheists just dont get......, you guys really really just dont get, it is amazing how dumb some people really are....

If God is the source of ALL LOVE AND GOODNESS, what is there outside him? Other love and goodness? READ AND UNDERSTAND, GOD ISTHE SOURCE OF ALL GOODNESS AND LOVE. There isnt goodness outside God....

If the central teaching of Christ was to kill others, rape, steal etc etc.....I would agree 100% with you, but it is the complete opposite, all the teachings of Christ are 100% pure and all goodness and love, why shut that down? If a priests rapes a boy, does that mean Christianity is false? The biggest percentage of child abuse is in the family home. Does that mean all couples should stop having children because one dad raped his son?

So much equivocation...... Church goers arent perfect humans, they are just like everyone else....Doesnt mean Christianity is wrong.

A dodgers fan murdered a giants fan earlier this year, does that mean all sports fans are murderers? Does that mean the dodgers teach there fans to murder if they lose a game?

What if i went on the baseball forum before game 7 started on the Cards v rangers game and i said, i want to bet, but i dont want to bet on either team (assuming only a head to head market is available), what are they going to say to me? Get away you nut job....Exactly...

And I'm not "betting" both sides. I am "betting" that god doesn't exist because he doesn't. If I do and by some ridiculous stroke of luck a god comes before me, I'll say to him "what did you want me to think?" I am not afraid of god. You make it seem like im "hiding behind" i don't know. I am willing to acknowledge that I don't know for certain, but that doesn't mean I haven't decided one way or the other what to think. God is not real and I will say that to my death. The ONLY CONCEIVABLE REASON TO BELIEVE IN GOD IS OUT OF FEAR. THERE IS NO OTHER REASON. You can be a good person and follow Christian morals without believing in a being that was created by humans to make you afraid to do bad things. I don't do bad things because I don't believe in doing bad things, not because I'm afraid of what's gonna happen when my body is underground and my consciousness has ended.

There are some lost souls on this thread. There is simply no getting through to their hard hearts. I'm still waiting for someone to get back to me about the Scrabble experiment. We aren't smart enough to believe things that there isn't much evidential support for, and this is quite regrettable.

3) It's interesting that you think being an atheist means being a coward and that nonbelievers all "believe" deep down. I ask you a simple question: Is it more comforting to believe that after death we will ascend into the heavens to play an eternal 18 holes with the Lord, or that we will be consumed by blackness and nothingness? You think we don't wanna play golf with Jesus? I've heard he's a miracle worker around the greens... Who are the cowards now?
