If you ask me what they should change about horse betting, sports betting.

If i go out and bet essential quality at 2 to 5 to show like the last race a 2 dollar bet pays 10 cents.  Every dollar i bet on eq pays 5 cents.  If i go out and take alabama -10 against nebraska 2 dollars pays 3.82.   How come the exotics in horse racing don't pay what they do in other sports?  Every dollar i bet in nba or nfl or college football pays .91 cents a dollar and the exotics in horse racing only pay 5 cents a dollar?  Why would i go out and bet 10 dollars on eq when it will pay 50 cents, and if i go out and bet on 10 dollars on alabama to beat nebraska it will pay 19.10?  How come exotic bets in horse racing don't pay what they do in the nba or nfl or college football?  Either it should get changed so every bet in horse racing pays at least 91 cents a dollar back or if i bet 110 dollars on alabama -10 to beat nebraska then you should only win $1.10 cents instead of a 100 dollars.  No one in there right mind would bet on horse racing when a exotic bet in the nfl or nba or college football pays 10 times as much.  All sports should pay the same amount of money instead of burying horse racing.

 Why was horse racing the only sport allowed when covid shut everything else down?

The states and politicians have to get their take. 

Horse racing pools are all parimutual pools so if you want to bet $100K on Zenyata to show there won't be enough $ in the pool to pay your bet(negative pool).The horse racing Zieghietz has determined that you will receive 5% on your bet even if there is 0 dollars to pay the winning bet.Some states have determined that you must get 10% on your money bet but every dime comes from the racetrack that booked the race and/or the site that took your bet. A bet on Alabama is determined by the posted odds and is a matter between you and your bookie.

Last year there were no attendees at Belmont(eg) but the Horses were crowded together and allowed to snort and spit on each other and if one broke a leg or got The Red Death,it drove home the basic fact of Horse Racing. Horse racing isn't a spectator sport,horse racing isn't an exposition to improve the horse breed, its a lottery with the bite baked into the payoff.

Horse race betting is strictly for the birds

Betting on a big horse favourite to  show is like betting on Alabama to beat Mississippi state. Alabama will be -2000 to beat msu

Beating on Alabama to beat miss state by 24 points is a 50/50 proposition so nice layout

Where, I believe, it.could get interesting  is this.... If a horse is 100% to win and every bettor knows it,  track pays out $2.10 on $2.00 get even if they will show a loss on paramutuel pool

Fixed odds wagering is coming to NJ within weeks and likely other states very soon and that will be a big boost to the industry and likely help bring in a younger crowd of player.

First thing they need to do is a better job of catching cheaters. I'm 63 have been going to track since my dad would take me to freehold, monmouth park yonkers, etc. he woluld hang at bars after and got to meet trainers jockys owners and they would give him tips for the next day and sure enough it would hit. I was like 10 and would ask how can you pick so many winners he would say its not what you know its who when it came to horse racing.

The best thing that could happen to Horse Racing is if a few Jockeys end up Hanging from a Rope under a Bridge. Clean Up Real Fast.

Yes.. Trainers and jockeys know when a horse is in top form- They work em out everyday

 No sir they sure aint, but if you lived in New Jersey back in the late 60's and early 70's. 95% of bars were bookie joints and most had a card room in the back room. Belive me there was a lot of shady shit going on.
