What would you do with the money? Try to be as honest and logical as you can... 

We will say you won $4,000,000...

Who would you give money to?

vacation? 

what would you buy?

would you move?

some may keep their job?

Again, try to be realistic in what you think you will do, of course so many things change with that money and we end up doing things we would not of thought of...

I just realized powerball is always over 20 mil i think so we will say lotto 649 style..

Pay off all my bills and student loans that I still have. Pay off my parents mortgage and their bills.

Buy a house and invest the rest.

I would still work and live my life the same way as I do now. $4 mil is not that much in the scheme of things. Especially after taxes.

Unlike lotteries in the US, winnings in Canada are tax-free, so I'd get to start off with a full $4 million.  Pay off the remaining mortgage I have, travel more (want to go to New York more often to see the Islanders, Europe, Australia, parts of South America and Asia, etc.), take up golf on a regular basis.  I don't live a very extravagant lifestyle.  I would probably get a part-time job regardless, but one that gives me some flexibility to do these things.  Ideally, I'm trying to break into bookkeeping right now, so I'd want something that I could do once in awhile, as some small businesses let you clean up the books once a month.

Invest the money in a diversified manner and try to get at least 3-5% on it every year.  Live off the interest and give a portion of it to family/friends/charity every year, perhaps half of the interest, which could be $60,000-100,000 for each myself and family/friends/charity.  Of course, if I get a higher return, even better.

1. Donate a portion to Sloan Kettering.

2. Pay off everything I've ever owed my Father along with whatever he needs to pay off the house/car.

3. Buy a pool table.

4. Buy Yankee Season Tickets and sell those tickets a game at a time for more than they're worth to make a profit.

5. Invest.

Anyways, for me...

Definitely travel a crazy amount more... Give all my family members a vacation, take another one with friends... Buy my parents whatever they want... Buy a new car, house... Go to a lot of sporting events...

Give about 20% to those in dire need of medical assistance.

Then travel around the world and save some up for my nest egg.

If there's any left when I'm near-death, that money's going to charity.

taxes

But after that I figure that I would invest the money so that you get a yearly "allowance" to blow and keep the money...

I'd buy a few thoroughbred racehorses for sure.   


Maybe some high quality greyhounds also.    Maybe start my own kennel even though there is no money in greyhound racing.
