Listen, I'm 100 percent behind arresting those officers who were responsible for the killing of Breonna Taylor. Now NFAC shows up, wanting to shut down the race with a show of militia style force after leader John Jay Johnson said in July "they were prepared to burn this "m f-ing town down.''
The Kentucky Derby has nothing to do with the tragic killing of Breonna. These protestors/militants have even pressured one of the owners, who is black, to withdraw from one of the greatest sporting events in the world. Kudos to him, Greg Harbut, for not bowing down, Necker Island will be racing. He's a longshot but I'll bet he'll be on a couple of betting tickets tomorrow. And don't tell me it's "a white man's sport." I'm a regular at Tampa Bay Downs and there is a tremendous amount of diversity in the crowd as well as the stables. Protest peacefully but don't interfere with the race because if you do, the cause for "black lives matter" will take a step back, that's with people around the world, and no one regardless of color, wants that to happen.

I'm not a black man. As a kid, I grew up an Air Force Brat overseas in Turkey, on a US military base. There were a group of us Americans and it was the weirdest thing being in Turkey. Different language, culture, just absolutely everything, was different as can be. Except on the military base where the housing and schools and stuff were for the American military workers and families. I was there mostly until I was 15 in age. We kids had black friends, and we were taught there was prejudice, but I never really experienced it. Not until I got back to the states, then the reality of it I realized. I really didn't know, feel it, nor experience it on that military base. (to be continued, I have to watch the race)

UKG, fellow military brat here too, Army, and Air Force veteran as well. Grew up all over, including 5 years in Germany. Kids of all races and every possible combination, myself included. Went from Germany to Ft. Bragg, 7th grade, saw prejudice and racism I hadn't before. But the military kids, kids of different races, we had our own clique. The angry white kids, the angry black kids did not mess with us, they knew better. Our dad's were tough Vietnam vets, and we were tough too. Hard to understand the things I've seen. I guess we were fortunate to grow up around people of all races. I still have some of those childhood friends as friends today, kind of amazing when you really think about it

So where was I. Never experienced prejudice because of the type of isolated island type of situation growing. Really innocent. Us group of kids there, hung around kids our age, no prejudice, we were just Americans in Turkey. Never ever ever mentioned nor heard the N word, never. When I came back to the states in 1976, Roots was airing on TV. It showed and highlighted the inhumanity of whites whipping and torturing slave and I believed stirred a lot of really bad feelings and anger. I didn't watch it, still haven't, but I know about it. And what I experienced was prejudice of blacks hating whites, not as much the other way around. I was new to the States, so the group of kids I hung around with never really used to N word or spoke prejudice. But the other way around, I felt their anger on the school bus. I think the Roots TV show had a whole lot to do with the times then. (I'm starting to not feel good about all this so will be continued).

Thank you mrusso. I had Tiz the Law, Enforceable, and Authentic. I don't know nothing much about horses but I always have action for the Kentucky Derby. Turned out profitable this year.

Our midget league football team, the only mixed race team, primarily military kids, went undefeated including wins over the defending champs, all white " redneck" kids from Massey Hill, 48-0 and the previous years champs, all black, downtown team, Lamon St, 30-6. That's how you get respect and people don't mess with you

Breonna Taylor was a drug mule whose thug boyfriend fired on officers executing a legit search warrant. How she got turned into some kind of martyr is beyond me. She and her thug boyfriend likely stayed up many nights waiting for someone with gun to burst in.
