It was one of the great conveniences Vegas always offered without fail.
Either the MGM properties are hurting for money or they are like the NBA (they have billions coming in from a new TV contract but no matter, let's make even MORE money by selling advertising space on jerseys).
What a shame...milking the gambler for every single solitary penny...
Paid Parking Start Dates Paid parking doesn’t begin at the same time at each of the MGM Resorts properties in Las Vegas. That would be way too simple. Here’s a breakdown of when and where MGM Resorts will begin charging for parking. June 6 – ARIA, Vdara, Bellagio, Monte Carlo, & New York-New York June 7 – Excalibur, Luxor & Circus Circus (valet only at Circus Circus) June 8 – MGM Grand & The Mirage June 13 – Mandalay Bay & Delano Parking Fee Structure Parking fees will be different depending on how long you stay parked, how you choose to park (self or valet) and where you visit. If you’re self-parked for more than one hour at the MGM Resorts properties listed above you will be subject to a parking fee. The self-parking fee is $7 for vehicles parked between 1-4 hours and $10 for vehicles parked between 4-24 hours at the following MGM Resorts: Aria, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, Mirage, & New York – New York. The self-parking fee is $5 for vehicles parked between 1-4 hours and $8 for vehicles parked between 4-24 hours at the following MGM Resorts: Excalibur, Luxor & Monte Carlo. The valet parking fee is $13 for the first 4 hours (no grace period) and $18 for between 4-24 hours at the following MGM Resorts: Aria, Bellagio, Delano, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, Mirage, New York – New York, & Vdara. The valet parking fee is $8 for the first 4 hours (no grace period) and $13 for between 4-24 hours at the following MGM Resorts: Circus-Circus, Excalibur, Luxor & Monte Carlo.

Milking the gambler. The problem is there aren't nearly as many gamblers in Vegas as in the past and they're finding ways to nickle and dime people. With that said, it's still BS. MLife members with Pearl status get it for free. It should have been made free for anybody with a players card.

Btw, this only helps "DOWNTOWN". .closer to all the "real action" anyway..aka.."sin city diaries"
Vegas really is kinda kool when you venture off the "coveted strip" ... plenty of great golf, Red Rock, Palace Station, even across HWY by Rio and New Orleans? Some parts not so much..
Actually, I discovered COVERS at Southpoint in 09", Beautiful condo time share
Sxcal.. thx again for sharing (sharing is caring)

Before I even opened this thread, I knew this was coming, hahaha
Not sure how The Law reads in Nevada but usually if you charge for parking you must assume any liability issues ie stolen or damaged customer property.

This is a bummer. Whenever I drive through town I like to stop in at Venetian or Bellagio and place a few sports bets. I wonder if the sport books will validate. Doubt it.

Westgate now charging for parking when there is a event at the convention center BUT they validate for players at the sportsbook. I would be surprised IF the Venetian or Bellagio sportsbook did NOT. I know the "standard" downtown used to be players get validated. haven't been downtown in years so really do NOT know anymore

Literally every time I go to Vegas there is a new obnoxious way to extract more money from the visitor.
If it isn't a higher rake at the poker table it's a change for the worse in the bad beat jackpots or bj pays 6:5 on tables under $25 or 3x4x5x odds at the craps tables instead of 5x or 10x or non comped resort fees or worse payouts at the video poker machines etc. etc. etc.
Usually the good thing about big corps. is you get more value for your dollar but it's pretty much the exact opposite in Vegas

I'm guessing that's not their usual half hourly rate
24 hour minimum. I think it is usually $10 or $15. There is very little street parking around the casino, and I was already committed to parking in the structure when I saw what they were charging.
