Texas blows. There's your insight. Austin is pretty cool. Where are you moving from?

Temple Texas was nice. Seemed like a home town feel when I was there in 90-93 but again been 25 years since I was. The rose garden and Japanese botanical gardens in ft worth very pleasant.... nolanville is a speed trap. Good luck I am staying here.

Depends a little on where you're moving from. I've been to Tejas twice, & while I liked it, I wasn't there long enough to experience what year round living would be like. Being from the PNW, it would be a shock for me to move to the flat lands.

Austin is cool but pricey. Dallas/Ft. Worth is a huge area and getting more costly as the population here keeps growing. I would avoid Houston at all cost, that place suxxxxxxxxx

From my diligent research, Austin is filled with a bunch of leftist dolts, so if you want to avoid them but live near the city instead, it is best to move to the suburbs of Austin, where a lot of sane people live.
This way, you are close enough to VISIT the big, exciting city of Austin.

Houston took in the people from Hurricane Katrina years ago, and I heard it turned into a giant sh//hole as a result.

Austin is nice but the traffic is horrible. Over 6 million people now live in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Talk about traffic! Today's Dallas weather is 95 with 94% humidity. Tough stuff

No more of a sh*thole than it was before.
p.s. You know a guy never gets laid when he turns every thread into political commentary.
"Hey, what's everyone's favorite vegetable?"
"Well, I know all the libtards like carrots so i'm gonna have to go with strained peas."
Austin is an artsy town, a college town, a young and hip town, so yeah, it might be a little too liberal by Texas standards but it's still Texas. And it's as cool as it gets in Texas. Again, it comes down to your age and what you want.
