Are you exercising to go along with your new diet?
Good job, keep it up. Oatmeal, fruit (cantelope) brown rice and yams are a good source of carbs early in the day. Have to have carbs. Have to have some good carbs to keep your levels on.

Been doing it since April 7th of 2014. I have had my weekend slip ups and holidays are always tough of course, but on a daily basis I avoid bread, pastas, liquid calories, and snacks (chips, candy etc). I know some vegetarians, and they aint healthy either, I dont care what any documentary says. I exercise at least 3 days a week for 2 hours (cadrio/weights) I'm stronger than Ive ever been and in better shape than Ive been in since I can remember. The Atkins diet isnt a cure all, but the science is easy. Your body uses carbs for fuel first and stores the rest. So, you eat a double cheesburger, fries and a coke and your body is set for fuel and will gladly store the excess on your midsection. Remove the fuel source and your body will take a few days and then retrain itself to use fat 1st as it no longer has the easy fuel supply. This isnt a lifelong diet, as fruits and veggies are a good thing, but this is meant to get your weight down fairly quickly. I put on a ton of weight in a couple years around my kid being born. Lots of lazy days and horrific eating (sunday football lunch : Large pizza, bag of doritos and a 2 liter of mt dew) Jesus...just ridiculous. Had to make a change for my little girl. She shouldnt have to go through life without a dad or with one thats too big to take her for a walk. My pride and will power beat the $hit out of my laziness.
I'm down 110 lbs and almost at my goal weight. Its gonna happen.

Nice job Drizzle., and everyone else that has gotten after the food and booze demon.
My weight blew up in my late 20's....housing market was booming, so in the restaurants I was cruising.
Always lifted weights heavy; figured I could eat what I wanted if I was lifting. Had a wake up call in Vegas after a seafood buffet binge...the suite at The Hotel had a scale in it....258 pounds!!!!! I played college baseball at 210lbs a few years earlier!!
So, that was it. Back home, introduced cardio and cut the breads, pastas, cereals out. Stopped eating out completely for a long time(drinking out ).
Lately, I have been doing Joe Rogan's "angry hulk loads" shakes. Tons of veggies.....kale, beets, celery, carrots, radishes, ginger root, garlic and some apple. they don't taste real great, but the energy is real, and chemistry in the gut is much improved. Also have been incorporating eating plain greek yogurt with no sugar, sauerkraut and kim-chee. The mental clarity is unbelievable...turns out that things like proper digestion and actual nutrients have an impact on the brain. Who knew?
Overall, it has worked....solid 224 lbs. Body composition is completely different (waist size is down 4 pant sizes) , and the strength is better than ever. Went from static weight training to interval training...that was huge.....I can get done in 45 hard minutes, what used to take me 2 hours!
Best of luck to everyone, and hopefully the effort will pay off for us all.

Breakfast:
Dymatize iso 100 protein with unsweetened almond or cashew milk
Ham & cheese omelettes, sausage, eggs any way
Lunch:
Meat - You pick Beef/chicken/fish
Dinner :
I eat a lot of spinach & chicken salads. There is a recipe for pizza on the web that uses canned chicken as the crust and its excellent.
My advice is to plan out your meals. This will help you avoid straying from the diet as you peer into the fridge or cabinet. Drink water. Drink lots of water. This diet will deydrate you as your kidneys are put into overdrive.
Once you get in a routine and make it past week 2, its pretty easy stuff.
