Under the new law, individuals at least 21 years old would be able to use it, grow it, and possess it. The measure stipulated that individuals could possess under ten ounces of marijuana inside their homes and under one ounce in public. They could also grow up to six marijuana plants in their homes.
If approved, marijuana legalization would take effect on December 15, 2016.

yes, marijuana did well and as vanzack said, CA should start a major domino effect once those numbers come in. some states just like being poor but for the ones that don't, they'll get with the program.

NY has had medical marijuana for a year or two, but you practically have to be on your deathbed with a very specific illness to get any.
I don't know why people think making something illegal will stop people from doing it. All it does is put the profits in the hands of criminals, and make it less safe for everyone.

The treasury agents involved in the crack down of alcohol were sent hunting pot heads in the 1930's after prohibition was lifted and marijuana became illegal about the same time. The us government lifted the ban offering special growing permits to farmers to grow hemp due to Indonesia falling to Japan . after the war Federal government decided they could grow their own and made pot illegal during Truman. Today the federal government grows 6,000 tons of fiber for paper money and navy rope in Kansas and other areas.
wood and pulp industry is biggest opponent to pot for the growth of fiber is so much quicker than wood to make paper Hemp paper cloth and rope is more durable substance than plastic or other synthetic material causing big oil to fund a continuation of the plants non legality issues.
Today we have near a million in jail over pot across the country some facing life do to three strike rule we employ drug agents from local state and federal level doing nothing more than finding this "gate way drug" what we tell sorry your life work was just a big misunderstanding?
Reality the biggest selling point to relegalize marijuana is no one ever overdosed on the drug . no one. as far as taking the criminal element from weed and regulating as tobacco and alcohol.
The Colorado and Washington experiment has proved this is a good choice for states to fund detox programs and enforcement of far more serious drugs and allows states to direct recourses more strategically.
But according to federal law Marijuana is classified as cocaine or Meth with no known beneficial use. sad because Hemp was one of the first crops cultivated by man as the word hemp means canvas.
every sailing vessel before 1900 needed 70 acres to be cultivated for sails ropes uniforms log books ect.
for those that hate hemp you hate the founding fathers They sent Jefferson to France to find a faster growing strain . he brought back seeds and stated it is Americans duty to bring beneficial plants to the states. Hemp was smoked in pipes in the old world long before tobacco was ever introduced.
