 Thats before taxes, its the lump sum vs the stream of payouts. The lump sum is the net present value of the stream of payouts on that 1B number, I think the payout period is what 25 or 30 years?

I'd still take the lump sum and run when it's that much I'd be glad to get a few hundred million 

I still can't fathom why the lottery holds back so much from the lump sum payout taxes yeah whatever I understand but you won the jackpot so should be all of the cash not the lottery keeping almost half for themselves 

If I won the $1B or 625 million or whatever I'd come to Vegas for the month of September with $30 million in cash and just bet parlays, nothing but parlays in      &

What hotel cadcino do you want to buy at that point. 30 million in Vegas basically buy any hotel off the strip and make you a principal share holder o. The strip...

 Nah not interested in buying a hotel, I'm coming to play and play parlays only and want increase my bankroll 3X fold just in the space of a month

Just pointing out that with that kind of money there are many other ways to make money in the  gambling industry. 

Harris resorts and casino is a publicly traded company . You can buy it with 500 million. Enough share to be the principal stock holder if not controlling interest in every hotel yr hey own...

my point this type of money is more than the gross domestic product than more than half the worlds governments yearly budget.

To the USA we blow that and then some every 4 hours in just discretionary spending. . But in reality this in liquid reserve currency makes you the BOSS.
