After 7 years and 10 months. I'm finally done paying alimony and child support. Been scraping and hustling for almost eight long years because the lovely courts in the state of Ohio feel an ex-wife who has never wanted to work should receive half of my earnings.
WTF am I going to do now that I actually keep everything I have worked so hard to earn. Jesus its like I have gotten a second full time job without having to put in the time. I feel a long awaited two week trip to somewhere sunny and sandy is in order.

Since you're already accustomed to getting a lesser paycheck, I'd invest half of each paycheck and continue to live the way you've been. It will eventually pay off in the long-run.
Before doing so, maybe a well-deserved vacation somewhere you always wanted to go.

1) Continue to pay my two kids student loans. Maybe a little extra each month.
2) Since besides the alimony, I lost a good chunck of my retirement in the divorce and Im in my fifties. Got to get moving on retirement planning finally.
3) Maybe a new Harley in the spring. I friggin deserve it. YES!!!

Here in NJ we have what is called permadent Alimony. Still worth it!!! No CS because the kids were with me most of the time.
Hutch's words are soooooo true.SPOT ON!! never let her sit at home. Alimony is a differnce in income and living standard. Plus more. If you ever think your on the road to divorce, sweet talk her into some kind of job if she is a "stay at home mom"
ENJOY!

MB to Heinie-Heinie is a little too thick for me. Don't be surprised it takes you longer to down this six-pack. The beer I order whenever I have a steak. The best for the best.
Sirloin to Ribeye. Well, to each his own, but to me, sirloin is already a great cut of meat. Ground sirloin is what I use for my Thawkcos. Myself a 6 oz. filet mignon wrapped in bacon hits the spot.
Of course, this will all taste better because the "ex" is paying for it! Enjoy, and dive in, my friend!

Here in NJ we have what is called permanent Alimony. Still worth it!!! No CS because the kids were with me most of the time.

Permanent Alimony?!?!?
That is wrong on so many levels... Where is the incentive to learn a trade and get a job? It would drive me nuts knowing my Ex was servicing some other guy and I was footing the bill for life... S h i t like that is what brings out the ultimate evil in men...
I thought alimony for to help a spouse get on their feet and after a reasonable time it would end...

Skip the Harley bro. Last thing you need with your life of freedom is a broken leg and/or another payment.
Congrats

Little older than Brad Pitt. Bye the way. He can keep Angelina Jolie. Would'nt mind if he tossed me his seconds with Jennifer Aniston tho. Could spend some of my extra money on a bucket of those little Blue Pills. That should take care of her nicely. To answer an earlier question. At my local store a litre of Crown is around $34.
The thoughts of a new Harley still stands. I can buy a cutie to help me out when I break my leg. If I broke it when I was married, I'd only gotten laughed at anyways.
Live Long and Prosper Bro's!

Don't know if you ride or owned one before, but the new HD touring bikes are awesome; Electra Glide, Street Glide or Road Glide. Newly designed frames, they handle great. And with the new 103" motors.
GL!!
