I've been going through a rough patch at 58 yo. Wife is 62 and had her 2nd hip replacement on same hip since 2010.
C Spine surgery 4-7 in 2010 as well.
She's been on Oxycodone, morphine and soma all those years. now lyrica has entered the picture.
These opioids have taken over her mind and have made her impossible to live with.
her anger is directed at me and my immediate family. my sister, mother and I mainly.
so much so that my mother and sister who is younger than me disconnected their phone numbers and deleted me from their social media. and won't return a letter. Dad passed in 2013 0n moms birthday 1/1/13. his birthday was 1/13. go figure.
i got a letter from a recovery group that dad had a seperate acct that where i was the only person in the family that recieived this letter.
my sister has the 1.5 mil home on south shore of Long Island that mother gave her and my moms bank acct, due to my sister interveening bc she lives in the house with her illegitamite kids so im looking forward to seeing in the word of Roger Waters......

Start testing your coke if you're gonna do it. I know it has been a struggle with the wife. I'm not even in the right frame a mind to offer anything of value so all I can offer is well wishes and love my my covers brother.
"Love, love will tear us apart again."

I would not expect any help from anyone even from social agencies. As time passes Family is Family till they have a Family of their own. They always say they love to see you but understand with your situation it may be a bit different. I said a few times after hearing them say we would love to see you and I would ask them stop over anytime, well they always say they have been busy the next time we happen to talk. Your not alone my friend, I'm 65 and work is my problem. The next generation does their time and won't answer their phones for extra work. At work they are on their devices and have no other interests to talk about, have no clue or care of what happens around them and if they get in your way they blame you and never say excuse me. Never saw as much homelessness and people standing on corner in my life? Today for example at 1:00 this afternoon I was at a red light waiting and this girl not American was standing holding a sign asking for money and I told her the business across the street has a help wanted sign with paid daily written on she walked away..... a half hour later 5-7 miles up the road I see her on another corner? I'm saying these people out on corners are not who they say they are and I reference this to Family/Co-workers just about everyone's priority is themselves so good luck with tomorrow. Try just getting thru one day at a time and maybe not asking other's for help. My post has no meaning except for it passing time as tomorrow is here and the cycle starts again shortly. Good Luck and think of what can't be done instead of what could be done......... Mets....Tough Loss! If you bet watch the Reds and Braves sweep....

My advice is to bounce dude. I get that her health problems are not her fault. Still doesn't justify putting you through domestic violence if what you are saying is correct. Impossible to live with, anger directed at you. Sounds like DV. Women are always told to leave when he starts with DV. The same should apply to men and there ain't no excuse for her behavior. She's 62, she can get her SS, she will be ok. Sounds like your family, sister, etc are smart and they bounced from you until you bounce from her.
You are 58, might have a lot of time left if you are lucky. She's not coming off those addictive drugs after being in this so long. Nothing is going to change, it will only get worse until you are snorting coke on the regular to escape from your shitty situation. But the good news is you can just leave and don't feel bad about it. Remember women are always told to leave a DV situation no matter how long they have been with him,no matter what his excuse for the DV.
And I know you aren't getting any from a drugged out angry old lady on her 3,rd hip. That right arm must be getting hella strong huh dude. I reming you, you're only 58 and that's not that old these days. Do you know how many guys your age I see down here banging perfect 10s in her early 20s. Lots. These young beauty queens actually prefer older men. They aren't as rough in bed, treat the girls better, and actually appreciate a perfect 20 something body. Yeah you probably got kids older. Who cares.
Just saying you still have some years left and you need to do 2 things to optimize those years. Stop gambling if you do, and bounce immediately and without guilt from your current situation. Get the divorce and let her take half or probably more. Then move on with a new exciting life.
Dude your mom won't even respond to you. She must be 80+. That tells you all you need to know. Choose your mom over a DV spouse who just drove you to coke. Come on, step up and move on. And just remember, it is never going to get better.

Sometimes we all need to vent or share something on our minds. It's great to hear that you're safe and feeling alright after your experience. Keep doing what brings you joy, like writing those lyrics and dodging any negativity. Stay positive and keep shining!

So i call the Landlord and the bitch says to me " it's a holiday weekend and i can't get nobody

I said... well my wife just had a hip replacement and i need this done. it's only 10 feet from the bed and the other bathroom seems like a mile when you're in her condition.
Bitch says.. Sorry we'll talk wednesday.
Now I've paid my 1100 on time every month for years (bc i lost my home) that's a story for another day.
That's #1.

So are you going to do anything about it, or are you going to recognize the problem and just hope it goes away in its own?
Are you afraid to even talk to her about it. Running to cocaine instead of dealing with the issue is not how an adult should handle things.
And I'm not so sure your issues with your mom and sister are totally your wife's fault. You probably hold some of that responsibility. Its pretty shitty to refer to your niece/nephew as illegitimate. Born out of wedlock. Isn't that alot of people ? Who uses a derogatory comment to refer to children. That's sad man. I detect anger that you didn't get a fat chunk of your dad's money. And I applaud him for that. He must have been a very wise man. He choose to leave money to help his grandchildren instead of to a gambler, who will inevitably gamble it away. I hope you are not angry at your "illegitimate" niece because you didn't get a chunk of gambling money.
