Lot to be said about that. Not many people know about the absolute slaughter we took in North Africa (Sicily/Palermo. Thousands of rook allies shot like fish in a barrel. I think the 10th came in after?

d day was an actual miracle, the long guns by navy were caught in low tide and out of range, the whole campaign was just a cluster f... but the tenacity of the troops and Hitler over playing That Patton 3rd armor would lead from the north he was caught short handed with assault of the cliffs of Normandy.

as the initial assault held the beach and the tide rose the Big Guns were able to decimate axis forces and after the cliffs were taken the forward northern armor went back to reform .

none really mentions the guerrilla tactics of 101 airborne as it disrupted communication and electrical grids behind the fronts, the entire operation was first credited to Du-gall soon to president of France to the locals as the residents were easily to befriend our troops working under Frances generals leadership.

Germans took significant losses, but the hitch was Hitlers generals the invasion to Hitler as huge success as they were able to drive the invaders into the sea, Hitler then began to concentrate all efforts to the jet bomber instead of fighter.... Hitlers then caught out of the loop till he recognized that what was told was not true and began to prepare for the battle of the bulge, too little too late, patten came in through the Pyrenees and began a southern campaign to effectively cut off the immense tank and assault to the north. dday and within a year ve (victory europe) day.
