I don't think it is a fair characterization of what I posted, and goldengoose touched on it in his post above.
I posted that it is a money transfer method, and that (at the time) I was having fun with my insignificant amount of BTC that I held.
I will tell you - that BTC can be like the new Neteller. If you get in and out fast, it is a simple money transfer service.
As far as "extolling the virtues", it is in practice only - not in substance. I don't know if it goes up or down or sideways in price - but it can be a big value if you use it properly and never care if it goes up or down or sideways.
