Have been here at Covers for 20 years and been sports gambling for over 50 years. Half a CENTURY and like a cockroach you cannot kill me. The only way they can kill you is if you allow them an opportunity to do so. If you want to let your entire bankroll ride on one wager then sooner or later you will be extinct.

Still seems silly and irresponsible to me Porky. Its OK because they losing what they can afford to lose. Like it's OK since you haven't resorted to bank robbery or embezzling from your employer yet. Sounds like a drunk justifying his irresponsible behavior by saying hey I haven't killed anyone in a drunk driving accident yet.
Gamblers often say they can afford to piss money away so it's ok. What happens when you get sick, have health issues so you can't work, have a family emergency and you gambled your money away ? The money you thought you could afford to piss away.
Irresponsible behavior is irresponsible behavior even if you aren't paying grave consequences for it just yet.
So at least be honest with yourselves as you continue to lose to the juice, just as EVERY person before you did in the long run. Be honest with yourselves that you are making horrendous choices.

my junior year in HS 1968-69 3rd super bowl I think... Colts -18 over Jets I am a NY Giant fan but hate the colts even more then the Jets who I also hate. But took the +17 or +18 points and cheered for Namath and company My hs buddy's uncles owned a stationary store that we would go to the magazine section and read x-rated girlie magazines. Never knew he was a bookie and I gave $20 to him +17 points on the Jets. He explained the Colts could still win but needed to win by over the 18 points. I remember saying I could still lose the game and win. So my 1st bet was a winner when the Jets won 16-7. And the main reason betting the Jets was I hated Butkus and company so much since they always beat the Giants. In school a few days later was an envelope with $40 bucks.. My $20 and the winning $20 . . What an easy way to make money .. lol
