Tell me about RENO, NEVADA

I was just in Tahoe a couple months ago for a bachelor party and had a great time.  Tahoe is gorgeous and casinos were just ok.  We didn&#x27;t spend too much time in Reno, except for one evening at one of the casinos near the airport.  Can&#x27;t remember which one it was but it was an absolute dump.  Never went downtown so can&#x27;t comment on that area.  Town seems to have a small-town vibe to it though.

nobody that lives there goes to the casinos much.  take my friend request and send me a pm.  ill give you a different opinion on the community but i&#x27;ll agree the casinos are subpar.

Ghost town compared to what it used to be. Some of the places are always giving away free room deals and I think most have discounts for locals that dine there. Indian casinos in Northern CA have really hurt Reno

I was born and raised in Las Vegas and moved to Reno in 2003 to attend UNR. The city has a very small town feel to it and has a decent college atmosphere around the university. However, the city overall is pretty dirty and rundown. Downtown is an absolute shithole and the streets are all hard to drive on for 6 months of the year. Tahoe will likely be the best lake you have ever visitied. Great ski/snowboarding scene if you are into that. But besides that there isn't much to do. After graduating I moved back down to Vegas and plan to live here for a while. Everything is much nicer here (weather, communities, etc) and I have family here.

If your job you have lined up is a good one, I say go for it if you feel it could be a long term and secure one. It's not that easy to come by these types of things now-a-days

yep...pretty much the right assessment from everyone....i go to Tahoe/Reno couple times a year for skiing and Reno isn&#x27;t the greatest place to spend time in

I took a free trip to Reno last year including airfare for me & the wife (casino comp) , I wouldn't go again if it was free and they tacked on $1,000 in cash.

We literally passed a dead body by the side of the road on our way to the airport to go home, and we were awakened by gunfire at 3am one morning.

The weather was nice & cool, crisp fresh air. The Peppermill casino was ok, and we had lunch at a small place near the Peppermill that was also good. I have nothing else positive to add unless you really like bowling & white trash criminals.
