Comcast Sports Chicago started showing the 1996 Chicago Bulls playoff games a couple of weeks ago. We get the rebroadcast on Monday's, Wednesday's, Friday's and Sunday's.
Tonight is the 1st game of the NBA finals vs the Seattle Super Sonics. The series was broadcasted by NBC. Seattle was led by Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp. They were coached by George Karl.
My 3 points are.
1. Dennis Rodman deserves to be in the Basketball Hall of Fame.
2. Marv Albert is the greatest basketball announcer of all time. Yes! And it counts!
3. The NBA game was much better then.
It was better because of a legitimate low post inside the paint game rather than 4 guys spread out across the 3 point line.

I don't have an opinion on Rodman, but I agree with you on the other points. Marv Albert was great to have on the broadcasts, & to this day I still mimic his calls (although very poorly......."EWING! YES!"). To your 3rd point, I haven't watched a NBA game in well over 10 years. I didn't wake up one day & just swear it off, I just got tired of it.........too many weak foul calls favoring stars, which slowed the game down & eventually just took tough defense out of the game. It just evolved into an All-star game & punk fest. I still enjoy the college game.

Marv still has his 'A' game. TNT has paired Marv with Reggie Miller and Chris Weber. Both well prepared to create a solid broadcast team. In my best Marv Albert voice 'From downtown!'
NY Knicks fans were blessed to have Marv at the play by play during their glory days with Reed, Frazier, Monroe, Lucas, DeBusschere and Phil Jackson. Grest teams and a nightly must watch/listen.
